When dealing with concussions, it's better to be safe than sorry. Make sure Kobe is 100% before he's allowed back on the court

Pau Gasol is GONE

Looks like he may not play tomorrow...

Mike Bresnahan

Just looked at NBA's new concussion policy. There's only a slim chance Bryant plays Weds vs. Minn. Among the particulars of new policy...

Players must be symptom-free for 24 hours and then go through increasingly tough stages of exercise w/o showing symptoms after each stage.

Stages include stationary bike, jogging, agility work and non-contact drills. Then NBA concussion doctor would have to be consulted.

Yeah because he has to be symptom free for 24 hours.

He got a concussion from the Wade play.

He played the rest of the game with a headache, which I assume he thought was just from the broken nose. But headaches are a common part of concussions, they can get bad at times and usually its just one continuous headache.

Could Kobe play through a mild one? Sure. But leagues are cracking down on concussions and not allowing players to play unless they are cleared by a league doctor.

I dont think he will play tomorrow. If its a mild one, he should be fine in a couple days, but concussions are sometimes lingering.

Remember, Kyrie Irving missed three games due to a concussion

Snitches at the Sportsclub telling me Kobe was here yesterday & today, putting up shots & lifting. Hmmm...

Yeah but Kobe's Kobe and Kyrie's Kyrie. Granted, the new rules about concussions might stop Kobe from playing regardless of whether he feels up for it.

I've never hated a player anymore than Wade right now.

What irks me was that Wade was all like "I don't need to apologize to Kobe, it wasn't intentional" right after the all star game.

Of course he has apologized since...

TBH I actually want Kobe to rest against Minny. See what the Lakers can do without him.

Well yeah of course Kobe is Kobe. My point was that Irving had to sit out three games with this policy in place

He probably won't play tomorrow. I think he should just sit the next 2 games to rest and see if he has any lingering problems. Hopefully he will be ready to go on Sunday.

Ugh, it's one thing after another with this team.

Concussions are a serious thing, but the Lakers can't afford to handle Kobe with kid gloves like in years past. If he can play, they need to play him.
