Greetings,

long time LakerNation member (was here on forum since '08 days) was on actual LakerNation website since GetGarnett days, but besides the point.


Why is there absolutely no moderation on the LakerNation shoutbox/chatbox.
Granted most users here may not even use or know about the website, but for the people who do use it - As part of the staff someone should take the appropriate action in moderating and banning the spammers who desecrate the site you all built.



The e-mail feature you have on the shoutbox apparently is not working, because various members have attempted to e-mail about the issues that exist and yet none of the problems have been rectified yet.


So whomever has authority to make these changes and take action, I ask you please do.
There are still members (including I from time to time) who like the shoutbox feature on your website and would appreciate if conversation there could return to Laker/Basketball talk unperturbed by spammers like "lolz".

lol, I expected the "we have a shoutbox?" replies.


Shoutbox has been around since 2007, used to be way more active in prior years, but I still use it time to time to catch up with people.

Its just the poor moderation (or lack of moderation) definitely is a problem and I just need the moderators on here to be more cognizant of that and take action.


Anyways, I hope something is done about it - even though it isn't as active as other parts of the site, it's still a feature people use and being part of the LakerNation family, that feature shouldn't be exploited as such.

By the way, what the heck happened to you OP? Why'd you completely abandon the forums long ago? & if you really wanna' talk Laker basketball such as you attempt to do on the merely active 'shoutbox', it's not that difficult to get into the forums here & Lakers Talk (where it is much more active).

Never really paid attention to the shoutbox, because I knew it was pretty much full of spammers and trolls. The only meaningful posts are by David Brickley, Jason Riley and the other guys, posting some news there .. But yeah it would be nice if we revive the shoutbox and have a "live" conversation. Adding a shoutbox/chat thingy in the forums will be great and much more used if you ask me ..

This has been a problem for years and nothing has changed. It's easy to get a new IP address even if you IP ban certain members. It's hard to moderate a shoutbox because you might have hundred of messages from members in one hour.

Very funny. I simply used the find posts by user in your profile and it had them in order of date so it wasn't very difficult and curiosity was all it was too so chillax and eat a pupusa.
