Why do the Lakers do this: West and Granger are both decent defenders as well as good scorers. West is a more "typical" PF who is efficient at the pick-and-roll, which would benefit Bynum. Granger is a massive upgrade over MWP and Barnes. With a good PG to run the show, the Lakers would be ready for another championship-run.
Indiana get Pau Gasol
Why do Indiana do this: Pau would fit well alongside the improving all-star Hibbert. He could be the veteran presence needed on a young Indiana team. They shed a bit of salary this season, which puts them i place to make a run at 1-2 FAs this summer such as Indiana-native Eric Gordon, who would fit in well next to Paul George, who can play at his natural position (the 3).
HIbbert-Gasol-George-Gordon-Collison could make some noise in the east.
