Other than 1 SB win and the back to back 4000 yard season record. He doesnt have other prestigious accomplishments. not on paper. And on paper for HOF voting is what matters. sure he will make it in eventually. but so will Trent Dilfer who also has 1 SB ring.

As of right now, I'd take Eli over Peyton because...he's younger, a little more clutch, and more mobile, and more importantly...HEALTHY.

Peyton with the teams Eli has had would be more than 2 rings
don't know about all of that.
Peyton has had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne

why would Peyton be a sure fire HOF 1st round inductee?

You can't compare dilfer and Peyton when it comes to play, accomplishments or how voting will go

yep. your right. but when its time to vote years from now. 2 SB's mean more.
Peyton has been an elite QB in the league for far too long to not be a HOFer. Dude has 4 MVPs.

Thing is they had him too. Now that we see how the team did all year this year who's to say maybe both of them would not even be starters on other teams an really Peyton made them who they are.
Also Peyton has never had a D that Eli has had to fall back on

Trent Dilfer is not even remotely close to Peyton Manning. Dilfer was simply a serviceable QB with a monstrous defense

He was also ranked as the 8th greatest NFL player of all time from the NFL network when they did a list in 2010. So, I think the media gets how good he is.

Yeah but the initial argument is stating Peyton's case. Eli has NEVER EVER EVER EVER had the kind of WRs that Peyton has had. That's not to say he doesn't have good receivers (because he does) but Peyton has been surrounded by HOFers: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark. And, some of those defenses that Peyton has had weren't too shabby at all; Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Bob Sanders, etc. The problem I had/have with the Pats/Colts is that they abandon the running game often and/or don't invest in it. This isn't Oklahoma in the big 12; you have to control the TOP and give your defense time to rest and to make the opponents defense tired as well. For example, when Peyton and Tom do playaction fakes...why should the defense bite? There's no threat of a running game.

We've had great individuals on D but never a great all around D. Our running game has always been trash when the only good consistent rb we had in James was let go.
I still think Peyton made Reggie and Harrison who they are though. Without him they don't get as good as they are. He even made Austin Collie decent.
