Maybe I just had it built up too much, but that one doesn't seem as big a deal as they're making it. I thought Perk jumped when I heard about it but really he stayed down which made it easier.

I agree... I feel its slightly overrated but I get the hype...

anyone else think of it more as a throw-in and not really a dunk. i know he grabbed the rim for a bit after...reminded me of d12s dunk contest "slam" that won

If Perkins jumped, it definitely would have been better, but that was the best poster so far this season.

The fact that he just got [expletive]ted on makes it pretty damn impressive.

Now this is a true dunk. Vince slammed that [expletive].

VC's dunk over Weiss was the best dunk over someone (literally) of all time.

What makes that dunk legendary was the fact that Vince had the audacity to even try to dunk over a 7 footer and that he managed to pull it off so spectacularly...

To me, that will go down in history as THE greatest dunk of all time... No exceptions...

Vince Carter dunk is best of all time... no doubt, no contest...

This latest Griffen dunk, was just so nasty... so nasty...

It makes me want to have the NBA hoop raised a foot or 2 so that cannot happen...

Durant's hatin..

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/7529212/oklahoma-city-thunder-kevin-durant-not-fired-los-angeles-clippers-blake-griffin-dunk

The Clippers star went down the lane, elevated, made contact with Perkins and then threw the ball down into the basket, the fingers on his outstretched hand grazing the rim. The play has been the talk of the league.

"I have no appreciation for it at all," said Perkins' Thunder teammate Kevin Durant. "It was a layup, I think. He threw the ball in and got fouled and made his free throw, so it was three points at the end of the day, no matter how it happened, how it went in the basket. I really wasn't impressed. He finished it. So what? We've moved on."

Durant wasn't surprised the play gained so much attention.

"I wasn't surprised because Blake is a poster child," Durant said. "He dunks the ball a lot and makes spectacular plays. If it wasn't against us, maybe I'd say it was a good play, but it was against us, so it was a bad play. I have nothing against Blake, don't get me wrong. But it was against us, so I've got to stick up for my teammate."

....

Mavs big man Brendan Haywood, the victim of a vicious Durant and-1 dunk during the West finals last season, can testify to that.

But Durant seems to think that dunk doesn't get its due.

"I knew that wasn't going to get attention because we never get attention like that," Durant said. "We're not an L.A. team or a Chicago team or a Miami team. All our plays get thrown under the radar."

....

Kobe Bryant, when asked at practice Wednesday which dunk he thought was better -- Griffin's over Perkins or LeBron James' over John Lucas III -- picked his fellow Los Angeles star.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding," Bryant told ESPNLosAngeles.com's Andy Kamenetzky. "LeBron jumped over (John Lucas III). I've known Lucas since he was like, 10. He's 5-foot-11. Blake's dunk was unreal. Unreal. Video game s---."
