EL SEGUNDO - Lakers spokesman John Black announced this afternoon that guard Sasha Vujacic has an vulsion fracture of the left ankle and will cease all basketball-related activities for the next 10-14 days.

Vujacic saw a foot specialist Monday afternoon, who confirmed the findings of a specialist that Vujacic was examined by last week.

The injury is said to be a pre-existing problem and not related to the sprained left ankle that has sidelined Vujacic for the majority of training camp. However, the sprain that Vujacic suffered exacerbated the avulsion fracture.

Kareem was dumb as a bag of rocks though...he just couldn't figure out the offense...

“No words can explain this,” Vujacic said, when asked his reaction.

The injury is said to be a pre-existing problem and not related to the sprained left ankle that has sidelined Vujacic for the majority of training camp. However, the sprain that Vujacic suffered exacerbated the avulsion fracture.

“I just have to rest but I don’t have time to rest,” said Vujacic, who vowed to return within a week. “I want to do everything possible to get back. I want to (play) one or two pre-season games.”

Vujacic said he hopes to keep up with his conditioning. He will limit his court activity to stationary shooting.

“I heal fast,” he said.

im expecting the worse i aint getting my hopes up just like i did when bynum went down i was counting the days till eight weeks then boom 10 weeks then maybe 10 games till the end of the season then the first round then maybe in the western finals thennext thing i knew it was 9 months. im pretty sure sasha will be out a while cause it says he cant do anything for 14 days. then how long to heal and recover? and he has no training camp

You guys can't be serious to insinuate that Sasha is just being lazy after getting his contract. He's injured. The amount of money he's earning has nothing to do with that.
