Just messing around with the trade machine and going off my idea that the Lakers and Rockets could be a match again in a potential deal. The reason this deal could work is because of the situation the Nets are in. Having gotten off to a bad start, they could very well look for young talent to build off of before moving to Brooklyn.
Nets Receive:
Kevin Martin
Goran Dragic
Patrick Patterson
draft picks
Rockets receive:
Pau Gasol
Anthony Morrow
Devin Ebanks
trade exception to get salaries close
Lakers receive:
Deron Williams
Luis Scola
Starting Lineups (when healthy)
Nets: Lopez/Humphries/Martin/Brooks/Dragic
Rockets: Dalembert/Gasol/Parsons/Morrow/Lowry
Lakers: Bynum/Scola/Barnes/Bryant/Williams
Nets Receive:

Rockets receive:

Then trade Bynum for Howard

West Coast, that's a very good deal for all the teams.
Now, Mitch just has to convince the Rockets GM and Nets GM. I think the Rockets GM would love to have Pau Gasol on his team. But, the Nets GM is still very persistent on getting Howard.

^ New Jersey wont do it. Dragic is in the last year of his contract. There's no guarantee he'll stay considering he and Deron are the only potential FA's in the market next summer

The Rockets wanted to trade the same guys earlier but I doubt they would add Patterson to the mix. I love Scola's game though, he would bring toughness and heart to the Lakers, the exact opposite of what Gasol gives us.

I would do it mostly because it benefits us the most lol

Don't like it for the Nets. Seems like too little in return for the Nets who are giving up a superstar and one of the best shooters in the NBA.
If you want the Lakers to get replacements, I think the Lakers would have to give up both Bynum and Gasol to get lesser replacements and send the rest to NJ for Deron.
I don't think Pau, TPE, and late 1st round draft picks bring enough value to the point where the Lakers can get Deron and Pau's replacement.
