I see Farmar as a Tony Parker type player. They are both the same height and weight, they both got good speed, and they both can drive to the hoop pretty well. Tony Parker likes to use that tear drop floater, and I've seen Farmar try it a few times this pre-season.

I personally think farmar will surpass nick's overall prime.. the key reason being farmar won't hurt you with three point attemts early in the shot clock.

Crittenton is a 3rd string guard in Memphis, Just because a player had a great summer league means nothing. Too much hate on Farmar here.....

Parker has tremendous "functional strength" or whatever that Jeff Van Gundy calls it haha...he's not physically strong but he uses his body very well to stay with the contact and finish the play. For a guy his size he's a terrific finisher at the rim, im sure Farmar will put up Parker like numbers but I don't see any similarities in their games tho

I know I was probably reaching when I asked if he'll be as good as van exel but Farmar is only ONLY 22 years old and he made a huge leap from the 07 playoffs to the beginning of the 07/08 season, I don't get why some of you are closing the books on him?

Well I didn't mean they're exactly the same, but with the speed, size, and agility, they are similar.

Nick, who? Oh yeah, the guy who lipsync "Cancun?" The more playing time Farmar gets the better he will become as a player. Let's see how well Farmar does this season.

Numbers don't matter. What matters is game management and impact.

I can see Farmar being better. It's sort of like, would you rather have Antawn Jamison or Rasheed Wallace type of question (when Farmar hits his prime). Antawn puts up great numbers, but Rasheed is about impact. I see Farmar being of bigger impact.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.

if u dissect these numbers Nick's best LA years his average was 17 and 8 as a starter shooting 36% from 3 and 42% overall, sometimes numbers lie...I would say at this pace Farmar may never have the same numbers in this system but if he starts he will be a more impacful player for the Lakers, the guy is still very young
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

I think Farmar has potential to become a good point guard with time.

Only time will tell.

"Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael?" Rick Reilly

Bryant, who will be representing Team USA for the first time, told Gasol: "Being that we lost this series, you (guys) have no chance at a gold medal. I ain't goin' 0 for 2, homie."
