Had some memorable matchups on this day in recent years

2011
Last year vs OKC, coming in to this game on how OKC were the greatest thing since sliced bread and we pulled out a close 101-94 win. Kobe with 21/7/5 and Ron held Durant to 8/24 shooting

A couple of great highlight reel plays

2010

vs Magic

Not a great game by Kobe 4/19 FG but Shannon Brown with 22 huge points off the bench

2009

vs Cavs

Kobe beats Lebron at home. Ariza played great D on Bron in the 2nd half. Kobe's line was sick 20/6/12

2008

vs Nuggets

Fisher with 28 points  Kobe with another sick line 17/5/11

2007

vs Heat

Kobe and Wade went mano a mano. Brian Cook with 25/10 and 3 blocks  I couldn't find game highlights but here's one

and yea lots of BS fouls favoring Wade but Lakers outlast them in OT

2006

Vs Heat

This is the grand daddy of them all. Kobe seething from the Christmas day loss to the Shaq, torches Posey, Wade, Payton, whoever guarding him for 37 points, 13/24 FG

And of course Bynum vs Shaq

So tomorrow's much anticipated game vs Dallas we might see a big game from Kobe, a big game from someone you don't expect and hopefully a Laker win.

We've won the last 6. And Kobe seems to be a giving mood on this day ;)

Coincidentally Lamar's had some good games on MLK day too.In 05 MLK day game at Golden State, Kobe missed it because of an ankle injury, LO had a 27/12/3 game and hit this only NBA game winner

That Cavs win was nice in 09' because LeBron usually beats Kobe in head to head matchups. Ariza had some nice steals that game and Kobe made some tough jumpers over Bron also.

Is Chuck in studio or is he calling one of the two games? The Lakers will probably lose, but at least I'll be entertained if he's in studio.

I remember on MLK Day in 2000, Gary Payton hit a game winning jumper when Fisher or someone went under the screen.

I hope we can pull out the game tomorrow against a Deng-less Bulls team. And to show to me that today's game was just a fluke in things to come, I want to see us blow them out, wire to wire.
