Still nowhere close to the level he was playing for us to end the season last season, but here's to hoping he'll find it at some point. If not, at least now we have someone else in Jordan Farmar, who should be able to step in and make up for it whenever he's not performing up to par.

Yeah but at the very least his passing is still on point, his shot is cold right now which is why having Farmar is considered an advantage if he ever gets out there again hopefully.

But Blake's passing and point guard skills are still on point so I'm glad we rely on him for more than just his shooting.

Blake was Blake. Solid shooting, no mistakes, but hardly any production either. Not sure what his role is once Kobe comes back and with the way Xavier Henry and Jordan Farmar is playing.

On the other hand, with the limit Nash has on his minutes, he should be able to get some minutes - even as a 3rd point guard.

Steve Blake is assisting on 47.4% of the Lakers' baskets when he's on the floor.

Only 12 guys have had an assist % over 47 (min. 40 games played that year). Names like Magic, Stockton, Nash, CP3, Zeke, Rondo, Deron.

Not bad, I would hope Blake can keep that up through 40 games.  But still... he should be our permanent starting 1.

Nash is probably done, so yeah. Does that mean we don't have to pay him for the last year of the contract if he retired?

Although, he is 33 y.o., Blake plays his best game this days. I have never seen him  before to play at this level. Penetrating, passing, shooting and organizing the team's play. Excellent job as a starter. He can get a contract next summer at the veterans minimum.

Steve Blake also became the fourth Lakers player in franchise history to record at least 15 assists in a game, an honor also held by Magic Johnson, Nick Van Exel and Gary Payton.

Wow... that's quite some company to be in for Blake!!

12 assists again.  This system does wonders for pick and roll point guards in their mid 30s ;)

Blake is having a special year under the radar, less turnovers than all the point guards above him too.

I swear this system works magic it seems for point guards in the middle road of their career.  Blake has been able to do for us what we hoped Nash would be able to do just not as good a shooter but it isn't bad either and pretty efficient.

Seeing him go through the lanes and probe dribble is a thing of beauty and I'm glad that we're in a system that brings it out of him, it's a better sign of things when Kobe comes back if Blake is able to actually run the point as effectively and allow Kobe to be off ball.

Vanilla bean comes off a triple double game with a 14/8/4 game.  Noice!
