According to sources, the Los Angeles Lakers will trade Matt Barnes, Steve Blake and first round pick to Utah Jazz for their power forward Paul Millsap.

http://www.basknet.info/2011/12/11/lakers-traded-for-paul-millsap/

Not sure how legit the source is but this rumor has been popping up a bit on Twitter and its starting to be talked about in the D12 thread.

Some thoughts:

1) Dave Miller of ESPN 710 am, had said the Lakers had a trade lined up for a PF during the CP3 drama

2) The Lakers do have Paul's little brother Elijah Millsap in training camp right now

3) If true, a package of Bynum/Millsap/Draft picks trumps any other teams offer for Dwight Howard and Lakers would still be able to keep Gasol

He's undersized, but he's a very good player. Basically replaces Lamar obviously not nearly as talented, but equally as productive.

I find Paul Millsap, Carl Landry, & Luis Scola all very similar. I'd take any of them though.

Millsap is legit, i always pick him up in fantasy and he gets numbers. I know we probably want to package him with Bynum for Dwight, but I wouldn't mind him sticking around either. It's just a good deal overall especially us getting rid of Blake if true.

Are you kidding me? We can get rid of STEVE BLAKE? I don't want to get my hopes up...Although losing Barnes would be tough with Metta garbage and Puke on this team.

I don't buy that rumor. The Jazz would trade their starting power forward for a backup small forward, a backup point guard coming off a horrible year, and a late 1st round pick?

I'd move Blake, but I wouldn't move Barnes, our SF position is small enough as it is, and one PF isn't gonna change that.

I'm starting to realize Luke Walton is almost as untrade-able as Kobe.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Yes please get Millsap. He's pretty much Odom without 3pt range and ball handling. But I wanna keep Barnes. Love the way he plays.

^ Actually he can shoot the 3 ball, just not really that consistently nor often, but it's not completely non-existent.
