[Disaster in Paradise]

One hell of a thread.

This thread started back of December of last year. We were were all originally on a high as we secured Chris Paul as our franchise point guard moving forward and we had hopes of acquiring Dwight Howard shortly after. If anyone remembers, there was that report just a couple days before that said the Lakers were trying to get both Paul and Howard... something that many said was impossible.

We traded for Paul but just a couple hours later, this dream thread turned into a nightmare as the trade was vetoed and the rest was history.

After that, this thread changed to the Dwight Howard thread and honestly turned into a thread that will go down in the books as the most fun, exciting, frustrating, confusing, angering, and most active thread in LN history.

I want to thank all the members that participated in this thread and most importantly, thank all the members that constantly kept our Lakers community informed with the latest news. To my fellow staff members, our patience was definitely tested during this time but thanks for keeping this thread on topic and keeping the peace during this rollercoaster of a thread.

Imminent, sources, multiple sources, tweets, etc.... some of the words that defined this thread.

Now we move forward. Kobe/Pau/Nash/Howard. A fantastic four that a year ago none of us would have expected.

Again thanks everyone, lets hope we never have to open this thread again

Ah I had to come back 1 last time and looking at that thread title is pure bliss!!! For so long,months,days,hours,minutes,seconds i waited for the title to read 'Dwight Howard to the Lakers' and when it finally read that like everyone else it was more of relief than excitement. The happiness is only really kicking in now a bit like when we win championships just surreal. Anyway what a legendary Hall of Fame thread and props to everyone who posted it was a special piece of TLN
history!!! Dwight Howards aquisition definitely makes up for the original Chris Paul trade and veto that started this thread off!!!

There were others too like, very soon, close to being done, etc, but yeah, for sure imminent and multiple sources were the worst by far imo. Although again, at least multiple sources was able to bring us along that classic Chris Broussard meme to show for.

Last post here! We finally got Howard!
