Many different names have surfaced as the Lakers search for a starting-caliber floor general. Los Angeles has swung and missed while pursuing elite point guards such as Rajon Rondo, Kyle Lowry and Deron Williams, and they’ve turned their attention to more obtainable options.

No more Rondo?

Over the next two weeks, the Lakers may explore several other options. Around the league, there are a number of quality point guards who could be had for the right price including Jose Calderon, Jarrett Jack, Goran Dragic, Jonny Flynn and A.J. Price.

If Los Angeles can’t find a trade partner, there are also a number of free agent point guards still available. Gilbert Arenas worked out for the Lakers and has been mentioned the most, but there are also veterans such as Mike James, Earl Boykins and Luther Head.

Believing Boston would trade Rondo to the Lakers was a fantasy. Giving the Lakers a 26 year old pg that addresses their gaping hole at the one...teaming him with a still formidable Kobe Bryant, and the second best center in basketball.

The rumors were baseless. Doc loves Rondo from what I've read. They've had differences, but Doc signed the five year extension because he wanted to continue coaching Rondo.

Whoever said celtics would not trade rondo to lakers are kidding themselves if they can trade rondo to the lakers and its the best offer they would do it rivalry means nothing when your job and franchise is on the line , at this point their only asset o high value is rondo before the season started they wanted to trade him what makes you guys think things changed?

Little rumor on Twitter since its a slow news day:

Jennings/Gooden/Jackson for Gasol/Blake/1st

Some random guy posted it and it keeps getting RT'd lol. It says the Lakers/Bucks are closing in on a deal. Probably not true but fun to talk about

And why is that? I love Jennings game. If we could stop him and Kobe from killing each other that would be a very dangerous back court

Not a huge jennings fan at all. But that deal does make our starting lineup better

Bynum
Gooden/ Murphy
Artest/ barnes
Kobe/ Jackson
Jennings/ fisher

It's a solid deal. Something just rubs me wrong about Jennings though
