I was just watching the Kings and Spurs series of the 2001 Playoffs, and Kobe and Shaq's numbers were absolutely ridiculous in those series. Going into game 3 of the 2001 WCF's against the Spurs, Shaq and Kobe attributed to 59% of the teams points. Shaq's PPG at home were 35.8 and 18.3 RPG and 23.6 PPG and 13.6 RPG on the road. Kobe's PPG at home were 27.3 and 35.8 PPG on the road. It was clear that Shaq got more touches and dominated at home and Kobe was more aggressive on the road and closed games out. The Lakers weren't even a great defensive team during the regular season that year, but in the playoffs they stepped it up. We know that the team had two unstoppable players, but they also had underrated role players that defended and hit big shots. It seemed like everyone knew their role on that team.
