Anyone following the Wild Card races closely?

According to Sports Illustrated, Boston Red Sox is in the middle of an epic potential collapse

the Rays took three of four over the weekend and then Boston dropped the opener of a Monday doubleheader against the Orioles -- all at Fenway Park -- to see its wild-card lead trimmed to 1 ½ games? Mass hysteria? Total bedlam?
No team has blown a nine-game lead in September and missed the playoffs, but the Red Sox will be the first if they're not able to fend off the Rays over the final 10 games of the season. Boston found itself in this position by going 6-12 against the Rays this season, including six losses in seven games over the past 10 days.

In the National League side I ATL Braves were up 8.5 games on September 1 on The Cardinals and 9.5 games on SF Giants but now its down to 3.5 vs STL and 4 vs Giants (next 3 of their games at LA)


The division races are pretty much over...Yankees with the AL East, Rangers with the AL West, Detroit with AL Central
National League...Arizona with the NL West, Brewers with the NL Central and Phillies with the NL East

Also...Mariano Rivera now has the All time saves leader 602

Boston lost vs Baltimore...Papelbon blew a save but Tampa Bay lost to that rookie phenom Nova and the Yankees. Bos still up 1.5 games for the Wild Card

St. Louis Cardinals choked tonight they were up in the 9th inning but blew it to the Mets. They could've gotten to only 1 game back of the Braves for the Wild Card

Red Sox lost to the Yankees again! 1 more game left later tonight in the double header. Tampa Bay rays won so they're only .5 games back of the Sox

ATL lost to the Nationals and Cardinals won on a Rafael Furcal go ahead home run!!! Cardinals only 1 game back

ATL goes to Philly the next 3 games...the best team in the league...Cardinals go up to Houston, the worst team in the league...

NY-Tampa has been great. Rays came back from 7-0 to tie it, scored 6 in the 8th and hit a dramatic HR with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.

Atlanta had a COMPLETE breakdown, totally blew it and won't be making the playoffs.

STL took care of business and whooped on the sorry ass Astros.

Crazy night of baseball to say the least.
