Grizzlies also trade a future 1st round pick
----------------------------------------
We get a young guy in Gay who can make a good duo with Kobe. He can shoot, drive in, and defend. Powe is still young and can replace Odom. Steve Blake needs to go for Morris to get minutes.
Rudy Gay for Odom/Artest/Blake

Grizzlies aren't giving up on a guy they just gave franchise money to and they aren't interested in taking on Artest AND Blake's contracts.

Yeah, that's not enough for Rudy Gay. They have no need for Odom either because Z-Bo will be playing a lot of minutes. They might actually covet Artest if Battier leaves, but not for Gay.

Im not a big fan of any of the players involved.
Perhaps if it was Odom-Artest-Blake for Gay-D.Arthur instead. http://games.espn.go...tradeId=3rurt2v
Artest would be the starting 3, Odom would come off the bench at the 3-4 or 5 position and Blake would be a nice back-up PG behind Conley.
Gay would be a real bona fide starting 3, and Arthur would be coming of the bench behind Gasol.
It may work, though I doubt any of the teams would want to do this trade.
Also, Gay is a volume shooter, like Kobe, so perhaps he wouldn't be a good fit.
