If you were the Lakers GM, would you sign Iverson? He said he is willing to play any role on a NBA team(as you can see in link)

From an economic standpoint: YES YES YES!
In 2003 Real Madrid aquired David Becham for about 50 million dollars. All of this money was easily earned back as Real Madrid's popularity exploded around the world.
I'd say sign AI and T-Mac to the Vets minimum, and watch the money grow.

From a basketball standpoint: YES YES YES!
We are THIN at the 1-spot, where we have two un-proven rookies and D-Fish (3 million per year) and Steve Blake (4 million per year). I'd rather have a washed up AI than those two guys.
Also, he would be nice as a back-up for Kobe, playing 15 minutes per night.

I dont know what he has left in the tank. The game I seen him play in for Turkey he didn't look too good, then again he had just came back. I would think he has more to offer than Fish and Blake. If we packaged Blake in any trade deal then I say yes if he can really be humble and accept a new role. I f we dont trade blake then we could have to many point guards on the bench. I wonder what the Lakers are going to do about Trey Johnson

Yeah, Ratliff was a risk and trading for Joe Smith was dumb. Give Iverson the veteran's minimum. Instant offense off the bench. Kobe will shape him up if he messes around and Iverson should know this is probably one of his last chances at a ring.
