Kinect hack lets you use it without an Xbox

Not sure how old this is, but thought it was pretty cool. You can use it to control Windows 7, and can use it with Windows Media Center, Boxee and XBMC to enhance the experience. Don't have a Kinect, but might have to get one now that I know I can use it for some pretty practical purposes, and that I wouldn't have to also buy an Xbox.

I believe the open source software is called "Kinemote."
