i think
LOTR
the bourne series
star wars
the godfather
all have legitimate cases
but back to the future and pirates of the caribbean along with terminator and the matrix lose out beccause the 3rd movies and sometimes the 2nd installments all sucked big time

Star Wars comes in second
And I have a feeling, in a few years, I'll be adding Nolans Batman installment to my top 3 list

When I first saw the Matrix. It totally blew my mind. Never in any movie have done that to me even til this date.
When the sequels came out, it lead to a crap load of rumors, suggestions, questions, answers, riddles... It kept everyone interested about the whole Matrix universe. Sad to say it, but I was one of those geeks.
LotR movies were all CGI fluff. Sure there was some great battles, but there was not one thing in those movies that stood out.
The Bourne movies were good, but not great.
Star Wars - Never was into them, and never will. And yes, I've seen all 6.
Godfather trilogy - The first was brilliant I thought. But I've never got back to seeing 2 or 3. Don't know why. I will someday though.

Peter Jackson did a spot on job, and delivered the exact expectations I had from reading the novels, and even exceeded them in some aspects. It must be the most faithful book to screen adaptation ever. I cannot wait for the hobbit!
All CGI fluff? LOL, nonsense I say, and there's no way to bring those books truly to life without using CGI, there was muuch more to the trilogy than pretty images and battles

The only thing I like were the fantasy-like scenes. Other than that, I thought the entire plot was boring. True to the book or not.
I can see how someone might think the movie got slow at times, but the books deliver multiple messages. It is done masterfully. Easily the best trilogy. There were so many moments where my hair stood up on end during it. When Gandalf led the riders down the hill during the Battle of Helms Deep. When Rohan shows up to help Gondor. When Aragorn charges into the orcs in the last skirmish. The music, the messages, the lines by Bernard King throughout the trilogy...all classic.

I take that back. There were many scenes that stood out. I thought FotR was excellent. With mixture of great fantasy-like scenes. The cave, the shire, two of the elve's home like the giant trees. Those were jaw-dropping scenes that I never thought could be in movies. Only in artistic drawings. That raised my expectation level to an all-time high for the sequels. TT & RotK had some of the best battle's I've ever seen on the big screen, but nothing too spectacular for my hype. These were massive movies & I thought deserve all the praises & awards it has gotten, but it never quite met my expectations.

Lord of the Rings
Star Wars
The godfather
But I also like the other movies, so I could vote for all of them
