Blazers Fielding Offers For Andre Miller

Speaking from the team's Tualatin practice facility on Thursday, Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan said that while the team values Andre Miller's play, it is keeping its options open.

"We've spoken with Andre a little bit," Buchanan said. "Obviously he's aware of what his contract situation is. He knows how we feel about him. We're going to see as we listen around the league. There's a lot of interest in Andre for various reasons. At the same time, we value him and realize what he's done for us the last two years.

"There's a lot of respect around the league for Andre. Both for what he's done for us in his entire career, people talk about his age but the guy hasn't missed a game in seven or eight years.

"If Andre is back as our point guard next year we're very happy with that," Buchanan said. "Like any other player, if there's a chance to improve your team, you're going to listen to what offers are out here."

i've been DYING for this guy to be in a lakers jersey....tired of our wack "3pt shooting pg's" (who always end up being the weakest part of our team offensively and defensively) blazers probably wont be interested dealin with us, but it wont hurt to try

Too old. Useful, but don't want. We will already have a old point coming off the bench (Fisher) we don't need another. We need a speedy defensive point to start and run the show.

this guy hasn't played like that much of an old player past few years much like nash and j-kidd, and unlike fisher - and he's played twice as many games as fisher..had the previous iron man record until he got suspended for a game

don't look at age when it comes to a veteran like andre miller, this guy is crafty and has old school game..didn't he drop like 50 just this year or last?

last few years when i brought up defensive, good play makers and mid-range shooting pg's the general feeling on this forum was "he can't shoot 3's" ....and clearly we had a lot of success with three pt shooting guards in the triangle with blake and fisher

now its we need a speedy defender?...andre miller can defend better than fisher and shannon brown, and his speed isn't even that bad. plus he brings way more offense and can even post up, if he has to guard a young speedy guard, he is gonna make them work on the other end as well...can't say the same for fisher and blake

we are not gettin cp3 anytime soon

Blake, Shannon and some 2nd round picks. Would be perfect for us, veteran PG who actually runs a team and plays defense.

Miller would be a better back up than Blake or Fisher that about it.

If Lakers wanted a pg who couldn't shoot they would go after Sessions. Atleast sessions has some upside, hasn't cussed out his coach, or alienated himself from his allstar back court-teammate.
Miller has no transition offense, which is one of the things we need in a pg, hence the search for "youth and athleticism".
Miller has a good post game, which would be useless playing along the Laker twin towers.
He's hardly an upgrade over Fisher, least Fish has won...

Shannon has too much potential to ship out for someone like Miller. Miller has no off-ball skills, cant shoot, so wouldnt be an answer. Miller, with his postgame and ballhogging abilities rendered useless next to Kobe, would be the same as Fish, except he wouldnt spread the floor

wha????

WTF

Shannon has the potential to dunk and thats it; and even then...all he does is jump high. He's a low IQ player

I would rather have someone else than Miller, but Miller is better than Fisher hands down
