Well, I'm actually more interested in "security" rather than speed. Google is more than fast enough with my already fast internet.

Firefox is definitely the most powerful browser imo. Google is faster and has less stuff weighing it down, and uses less memory in the long term. but firefox's abp and better privacy addons are amazing

I enjoy Google Chrome, but lately I've sorta been liking the new FF more...so I switch between the two every now and then lately. Both work quick, and the FF has better add-ons too.

It's all personal preference really especially now. They are all pretty much on the same level security wise now, yes even IE now that it's on version 9.

OK, so I'm using firefox now and its seems...jagged. Like, it's slower than IE plus it seems to want to underline every misspelled word I type. Plus, when I updated it...a quicktime kept popping up.

Haven't looked much into Chrome, cuz it's always given me an error when I try to load any page. So firefox FTW!

Does Firefox have something similar to Google's Smartscreen Filter?

Depends really;

Speed: Chrome - easy lightweight client
Power (Customize, Tinker, and add addons/scripts): Firefox
Social Media: Rockmelt Browser

Other Good choices:

Opera Web Browser. Usually where the most innovative features come out before firefox and chrome. Doesn't fix bugs as quickly though.

Safari: Best at loading your homepage quickly, if you spend lots of time on your homepage, say if it is a news page, then this is for you. Visually stunning, and great support. Isn't compatible with everything though, and may be slow to run some windows based css pages.

I use chrome for regular everyday surfing, but I use Firefox for my heavy duty and designing/scripting/editing needs. It is by far much more customizeable and easy to bend to your will. I have a lot of addons and scripts that really make it powerful, and fast.

My Vote: For a regular user, Chrome is the best. For someone who knows what to do, firefox.

I'm beginning to hate firefox. Incredibly slow and "jagged". It's not even faster than regular google

As far as security is concerned, they're pretty all on the same level. Firefox is the most powerful and also quick enough in my opinion. But speed depends on your PC and what you do more than what browser you use.

You see this little hole? This moth's just about to emerge. It's in there right now, struggling. It's digging it's way through the thick hide of the cocoon. Now, I could help it - take my knife, gently widen the opening, and the moth would be free - but it would be too weak to survive. Struggle is nature's way of strengthening it." - John Locke

my pc is basically bare. I don't download music/movies or any of that. just use it to surf the net basically. Google and Google Chrome work great. Firefox looks nice but it makes webpages run slowly. I would really only use it over google if it provided some kind of extra security. Right now, I don't see what the big deal over firefox is.
