I'm reading that only one of those crazy controllers will work per system. Nintendo would find a way to shoot itself in the foot.

Some games yea. The Wii U technically has a much newer, faster n more powerful CPU and video card than both. But that's cuz it is newer hardware than both

Nintendo was great up through N64 after that not so much but if they keep comming out with Smash Bros. games I'll probably buy it. That's how those rascals got me to buy Wii.

The company will never have the glory days of the original nintendo. Sooooooo many good games on that system. SNES was nice too. Everything afterwards? not so much

Correct, no DVD or blu ray
Big letdown. Every upcoming console should at the very least do DVD, but bluray should become a norm too, they're getting more popular, more sales, dropping in price, and pretty much eliminating the DVD. Yes, I love me some HD.
The fact that the PS3 plays blus was a huge determining factor in deciding between a PS3 and a 360.

Blu rays IS HD. They're movies that can be seen in high definition, or maybe you meant HD-DVD, then yes, those became obsolete years ago. I think DVD still has like 2-3 years of life left, after that movie companies will start selling solely BD and stream their content online/offer it through DL.
But yes, more things should come equipped with BD players in the years to come, like laptops, gaming consoles, desktops, etc.
