God damn, the latest update is 1.92 GB!

Gonna be a while with my basic internet speeds.

Then after that, gotta download the new "Aftermath" DLC. The one before this, "Armored Kill" wasn't really for me and almost didn't play it at all. Not a big tank or jet fan.

I don't understand why they're so large if 95% of what is being adjusted is like weapon veritcal/horizontal recoil, reload times or like rate of fire. Adjusting all that really requires 2GB?

They're adjusting input lag and the audio going out for PS3 users to go with the weapon recoil adjustments, but still man.

The first update, they did add new areas to some maps so it was understandable that it was about 1.5 or 2 gigs. The ones after that have all been about weapon recoils mostly.

I think it's the actual maps and other stuff . Like cod games have the dlc maps in the disc.

It's not that, no.

DLC has always been a separate download for BF3.

The Aftermath DLC was a total of 1.6GB.

The patch was 1.9GB. Wtf? Lol

Anyway. Finally got to playing the new maps, the new Scavenger game mode is pretty fun. It's essentially conquest, but you start off with only a secondary weapon and have to look around for better weapons, the more kills the better weapons will become available for you to find.

Rush is SOOO fun on these new maps. So challenging.

The new Crossbow weapon is alright. It's bolt action so if you're good with those you'll have a great time.

Easy to unlock the stock Crossbow(win 3 rounds of Scavenger), it's a one hit kill if you hit the enemy in the chest or above, anything below will does like 90% damage and puts you in a bad position where the reload takes like 5 seconds and you have to take cover to reload or switch back to your primary or pistol.

There's additional ammunition that can be unlocked and one addition crossbow(with a scope) that can also be unlocked.


Anyone else also get the new DLC?

I play bf3 occasionally on ps3, no premium acc or extra maps though.

^ You'll have a BLAST! I tried to play it a week ago with my good friend. We both agreed BF3 isnt as fun as when it came out lol. Probably because we played the crap out of it when it came out.

Going back to BF3 when Aftermath comes out. BO2 is frustrating.

Rush is so fun on the "Aftermath" DLC for Battlefield 3.

Can't go in thinking you're Kobe gunning for 40, have to be patient, clear areas, flank, supress, revive wounded mates, drop health kits or ammo crates. Some M-Coms are placed so out in the open it takes plenty teamwork to arm them. Really fun though.

Finished like 13-8 using a supressed UMP-45. Don't like using supressors but they help keep you off the mini map which is key in Rush when flanking.

Just won on Markaz Monolith, down to like 21(out of 75) tickets before we finally detonated the last M-COM.

New maps looks great. Better IMO than the "Armored Kill" DLC maps.

DAT MTAR-21.

After getting continually owned by enemies rolling wth an MTAR-21, I finally decided to complete the assignment to unlock it. You need 100 Carbine kills and 1 EOD Bot kill, the carbine kills I completed months ago, the EOD Bot kill i attempted for a bit couple months ago, struggled, and I gave up on it.

Well today I finally went for it, playing Rush on Operation Metro I finally killed someone with the Bot. This sniper that was camping, first I ran him over, then got him with the flame.

The MTAR-21 is so beast. Just played TDM on Noshahr Canals(500 tix), went 89-50. Great hip firing weapon. Rate of fire is 900 too. I wish it was available on the Assault Kit instead of the Engineer Kit, but whatev.

Getting 2.79 kills per minute with it! 125 total kills in limited time. Just checked the Battle Report, had 2 separate kill streaks of 10, and my "Skill" was an all time best 593.

Ppl want it nerfed because they thinks it's overpowered, [expletive] that, lol. Hope DICE leaves it as is.

i miss battlefield 3 but i had to sell my xbox 360, well microsoft is launching the next xbox next year so i will wait, unless battlefield 4 comes early

The audio still cuts out for me over an extended period of time, i'd say for about a minute sometimes.

I know this was supposed to be fixed with the latest patch, but it has happened at least 4 times since I updated the game.

I'm talking about BF3 on the PS3 btw.
