Obviously, the team is even more stacked this season than it was last season, so it's probably going to be a lot tougher for him to do it since he shouldn't really ever have to. With that said, though, I can't imagine a season where Kobe doesn't hit 50 at least one time. So how many times do you guys think he'll reach that plateau this season?

I'd say 4-6 times this season. There might be injuries that cause Kobe to take the scoring load and some games where everyone else is off and he just needs to take over.

And yeah, it's definitely going to be more difficult for him to hit the 50 point mark this season because of our stacked team and he seems more reluctant to pass and be a distributor rather then a scorer.

0-2 times ... honestly on a team like this there should be in no way he would need to do it, hell only like 3 people got 50+ points last season and one of them was kobe 2x and one was when pau was out... 50 is a lot in the nba, especially having pau and bynum and odom now

Nevermind now. Although it's only preseason, Lakers are looking sloppy. He might need to score 50+ 82 times. That's not counting the playoffs.

Gasol and Bynum will probably combine for about 35 points a night. After that, minus Kobe and Fish, you have a combined six points from like...Odom, Walton, Radmanovic, Farmar, and the gang. Fisher will give you six or so. Kobe will have to average 40 a night.

Kidding, of course...but he'll need to put up 50's maybe three or four times in the season.

40+ 6 times . he'll get that scoring itch where the living legend puts up crazy numbers. as far as 50+ only 1 n a nationally televised overtime thriller.

Hes not going to score 50 and I doubt he will score 40 this year, he has too much help in order to do that

40 is easier than 50. He'll probably be scoring that more often than 50 even with help on the team.
