They deserved it. I bet no one believed in them from the beginning of the season. Everyone was saying, especially me, thought they were too old and soft. But they proved us wrong. I am really happy for Jason Kidd and the Tall German Dirk! All their hard work prevailed!

This video made me laugh!

I love what Kidd said, "Pass the ball, Kids"

I wonder if Kobe watched any of this series.
"The way Steve is as a teammate, the way he sets the tone, the way the team kind of takes on his persona. As a coach, that's the best thing in the world. It's easy to coach. He's taking care of the chemistry. You just coach."

Cavs owner Gilbert congratulates Mavs on Finals win

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has congratulated Dallas on winning its first NBA title, denying LeBron James the one he left Cleveland to get.

About 15 minutes after the Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in Game 6, Gilbert sent a message on his Twitter page to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

"Congrats to Mark C.& entire Mavs org.," Gilbert wrote. "Mavs NEVER stopped & now entire franchise gets rings. Old Lesson for all: There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE."

Last summer after James announced he was leaving the Cavs as a free agent to join the Heat, the superstar was lambasted by Gilbert, who accused him of quitting in last year's playoffs. Gilbert also promised that karma would prevent James from winning a championship and promised the Cavs would win their first title before "the self-proclaimed King" won one.

Kobe has 5 rings Michael has 6 both guys are historic bad shot takers. Kidd has 1 Stockton has 0, magic has 5, Lebron has 0 all historic ball sharers

That's 11 to 6

Also I get you don't like Kobe but the need to bring him up in every thread in a negative tone is unnecessary

Understatement of lebrons failure was Rick Carlisle

That man was the beat coach in the NBA this season bar none his adjustments were key

It would also be nice if our 2nd option didn't play like a middle-schooler.

But there's no reason to bring up Kobe in this thread, he has nothing to do with it. You seem to go out of your way to take shots at him however.

Very underrated. In the 2nd round against us, he had so many timeouts that simply plugged our momentum and got Dallas back on track. Rick Carlisle can definitely coach, he did a hell of a job this year.

It's pretty amazing to me that the Mavericks absolutely shut them down with such a simple zone defense. That vaunted Miami trio who was supposed to be damn near unstoppable was shut down by a bunch of 30 somethings playing hard-nosed defense. Amazing.

Did anyone even pick the Heat to win this year? Let along make it to the finals? I sure didn't

I thought even without Perkins if the Celtics didn't lose Rondo they may have stopped Miami. The injury really hurt them.
