While I'd love to see Odom sent packing immediately keep in mind that very few teams deal now. They want to see what they have in camp, play the x games and then figure out where they are. LA shops Odom now they'll get pennies on the dollar. Get rid of him sure, but get value back. That can't happen now. Maybe December more likely deadline.

Problem also is that Buss may be looking at Odom's contract as a payroll tool. Let him walk and Buss shaves 14M off the books. I just hope Buss' desire for a ring outweighs his desire to manage next year's payroll via Odom.

If they can get value for Lamar now sure pull the trigger. Chances of that happening are slim and none and slim just left the building.

So they wait.
Hinrich and Gooden (Sefolosha is too beloved by Paxson)
Tayshaun
SJax
Gerald Wallace

All of those are fine by me, but you need the other team to offer it and be willing to deal now. Few will, few are.

Tayshaun would be a DREAM. It ain't happening unless we give up someone of value ALONG with Odom. Dumars isn't stupid.

Bring in Hinrich, and we throw off Fisher-Farmar tandem...

Wallace. No. I'd rather keep Odom than get Wallace.

I'm sure Odom will stay as you say...

haha, no hes not here ... at least that i know of, i guess you can see if real or chicano invited him and he came as another alias, but i just remember how he would die for LO, dont get me wrong, hes a cool guy, i dont hate anyone on these forums but he would always stick up for him even with evidence and after he played a bad game

Yeah...CB's a DIE-IMPOSSIBLE when it comes to Lamar. That doesn't bother me. He doesn't lie about info...maybe stretch a stat or over-emphasize "intangibles" that are next to impossible to prove objectively.

Nissan -

You left CB out? :clap2: That's interesting. Must have been MUCH more going on behind the scenes than I knew about...

All true. Hard to deal now. More variety around Dec-Jan.

We just have to wait and see if he continues to wear out his welcome here. If so, it could get ugly. Phil isn't one for hiding his displeasure when it comes to his new "whipping boy"...

Even if it hurts the trade value...

This could get real frosty, real quick.

I didn't invite him because I don't talk to him.

Maybe I should invite him so he can join us and talk about Odom.

Do you still want to trade Odom for Outlaw?

odom for outlaw would be great, we would need to get someone else from them due to salary, i doubt portland would give us an expiring since theyre cheap and they have to sign their stars SOON, so what would a trade like that look like? ill take a jab, brb

okay how bout this ... (sorry if this isnt in the trade forum but we were just talking about outlaw so i thought id throw it in here)

http://games.espn.go...d...p;te=&cash=

orlando = gets a better backup to dwight, and another shooter that used to play with rashard

lakers= gets another defensive specialist for cheap, gets 2 backup bigs that have very short contracts, and another PG/SG that expires

portland = gets a whole buncha expirings 17.5 million worth so the can sign their stars

im not saying it would happen but id like it

Yeah...not str8up, of course.

Trade I keep thinking of includes a few pieces people here won't want to let go of.

Mihm - Not that important. A backup at best.
Ariza - Decent defender but compared to Outlaw, he's avg.
Lamar - obvious.

The trade I'm thinking of sends Ariza / Mihm / LO out for Raef / Frye / Outlaw.

Ariza is a casualty of war. Cheap and promising but not untouchable. If they would take Vlad, I'd rather send him. Since they won't, Ariza it is. Trade for a starting caliber SF and either Vlad or Ariza has to go also. Just no room...don't forget Kobe can play there also.

Outlaw makes 4 mil this year and 4 mil next year, is a tenacious defender and can hit the open 3 (40% 3pt last year). Slashes well and is a beast in the open court. Can't say enough about his perimeter defense.

Mihm isn't as good as Frye. Frye has all of the tools to be a great backup at PF/C. Good midrange J, decent post moves, decent defensively, MUCH higher basketball IQ. This summer, Frye is a RFA and can be resigned or used as trade bait in a S&T.

Raef is an expiring that you can flip this year (at the deadline) if you act soon.

Lamar just needs to be relocated...poor fit, yada, yada.

Bynum / Frye
Pau / Powell
Outlaw / Vlad / Kobe
Kobe / Sasha / Crawford
Fish / Farmar

LO for Raef and Outlaw works.

LO / Vlad for Raef / Outlaw / Webster works also.

LO / Vlad / Mihm for Raef / Outlaw / Frye works.

Et Cetera...

Point is, anything with LO requires Raef. Balanced as far as expirings...add in Outlaw and fit/talent ratio is good. Everything else is based on what each team would want.

Not that POR is going to make ANY moves before the deadline...
