Speaking of malware, my computer got raped by this virus called "win7 home security 2011". It didn't allow me to access the internet or any of my anti virus software. Everyitme i did it kept making this fake anti virus window pop up saying you got a thousand of trojans. had to delete some of the registry to get access to malwarebytes, i did a full scan and now its gone

i already beat that virus, u have to be fast at the start when u restart ur comp and fixed with spybot

my mom had this on her laptop as well, it wouldn't let me open any browsers... i did the only thing i know how to fix viruses

• back up everything important (videos,musics,photos,.exe, etc)
• reformat

I just found a guide that said delete certain registries in your registry editor which is allowing the virus to block all your internet and anti-virus programs, then i did full scan with malwarebytes (just like spybot) and now its gone. I don't got any external hard drives to back up my stuff to

yeh, win7 virus is a [expletive]. I did scans with alvira antivirus and with malware bytes to remove it. puts a [expletive]load of trojans on your pc. It will turn off your firewall under system security status and won't let you access the internet. that [expletive] must be common

gotta be careful of where I go to get dymes

these viruses have been kicking my [expletive]. I think there are some people posing as Microsoft agents to get access to your pc cause I talked to one microsoft rep and they said they never do live help for free. That shocked the hell outta me cause I had already done live help with "Microsoft" at least twice prior to talking to the aforementioned rep. Now, I'm thinking that when I was doing remote access, the "microsoft" agents installed really tough viruses on my pc. I had done avira and malwarebytes scans numerous times and they didn't find anything; yet, as soon as the I get to the desktop, the virus would show itself on the monitor. SMH

Had to do a scan from startup to remove yet more viruses.

I need to find who these fake microsoft reps are.

This goes to show that it's not particular sites. I just saw you said it was pre installed (windows 7). Did it come with a backup or restore DVD? If not what make n model is the PC?

the viruses I have in malware quarantine are PUM.Hijack and they were all in the registry; then there was heuristics.shuri... in the File part of the pc.

deleted them all

what you mean wouldn't be good? you can reformat it if you want haha. you use a windows XP disk or windows 7 disk. the only downside of reformatting is you've got to know what you doing. once you reformat you basically remove EVERYTHING. drivers (sound, wifi, video and etc) and you have to get them back yourself (going to where you bought your computer from (sony, toshiba, dell etc website) and downloading the drives. but i think, windows 7 is pretty fancy). they get the divers back for you. when your computer is done reformatting, it'll be sooo fast, all you have installed are windows 7 / XP stuff. none of those junks that come pre-loaded with your computer when you bought it

Was it one of those windows 7 restore/windows recovery viruses?
