I did a search and had trouble finding this topic, so I'm not sure if you guys discussed it already.

When I try to research this matter, all I ever get is a ton of sites trying to sell me something (and the sites kind of look shady, to be honest). I'm wondering if anyone has any info on this. Is it available? Can you get HD? Do you have to pay...or can you get it for free, like some things these days? I really wish the internet medium was used for cable/satellite, and see no reason why companies like Time Warner, Direct TV, etc. don't explore it.

Just one of the many sites I've seen:

Do you mean you already have cable/satellite and you want to watch it on your computer? You would need a TV Tuner card for that. Otherwise if you mean watching channels that are on cable/satellite for free there are sites out there just gotta search.

Netflix has a lot of shows that are on cable for streaming for like $7.99/month

Hey bro,

Actually no. I "do" have cable in my household, but I'm talking about if I ever have to move out....Would be great to have a more affordable way to get cable and/or satellite TV.

Honestly we cancelled cable like a year ago and just use Netflix or connect our laptop to the tv if we need to watch something not on Netflix. Waaaaaaaaaaay Cheaper
