By the numbers, he is. He matched Kobe's Game 1 performance (actually, I'd say he had a better one), and he definitely outplayed Bryant in Game 2.

I agree. So far, CP3 has been better than Kobe in the series. He led a 7th seed team without its 2nd best player in game 1 to dominate the 2 time NBA champs on the road. Kobe pretty much disappeared in game 2 while CP3 was hitting buzzer beaters.

What's the problem? CP3 IS the best player in the series up to this point.

I'm not really sure what the problem is. As stated by a few other members, CP3 has clearly been the best player in this series.

You'd have to be blind to think anyone in the 1st two games has been better than CP3. He's carrying that team on his shoulders...

And then kobe outplayed cp3 in game 3. You guys need to read On lakers post game coverage. Kobe scored 11 to address a point to his team, that scoring shouldn't be the only way to impact the game

Kobe used to always look like the best player in the series, too - back when his teammates sucked and the team was getting eliminated in the 1st round.

Chris was the story of game one. I think Kobes d was the story of game 2. He could have scored twenty. Game 3 Kobe and Bynum. Mostly Kobe. But chrid is right there
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

CP3 is the best player in the series hands down... his team needed every assist and every point he scored... he is playing unbelieveable.

That probably explains why he keeps falling over

In the playoffs series so far yeah but if were talking overall no way.

The way the question reads, it's hard to tell if they are asking if he is the best player participating in the series, or if he HAS BEEN the best player in the series.

It reads as if they are asking who is the best player on the two teams. But, they could have just meant who has been the best player in the series, and worded it poorly.

Had they asked the question the exact same way before Game 1, then we would know exactly what they were asking, without a doubt.

What do you know .. the "best" player of the series didn't step up for his team when it mattered the most .. sad ..
