Moving this to our announcements. We have a few guys from our community, and also many from the fanbase in general, that need our prayers.

Also, with California in a tsunami warning, it's best this is the first thing you see on the board.

I hope no one else gets hurt.

This really is a serious earthquake. God help us if that happened somewhere else and not in Japan...

That was actually AFTER the initial tsunami hit. Those are the second string of waves.

Seriously, those waves do look like they're straight out of a movie. They look like they're moving so slow, but I can only imagine how fast they're moving in person :nervous:

ok looks like in Cali it won't rise more than 4 feet and that is also if you're at sea level. Most of OC is hilly. But yea if you're in the PCH area just move inland

As destructive as humans can be, they pale in comparison to Nature.

Sorry, in the wake of this natural disaster, my emotions are high, and it was just a few folks who brought it up (not just here, but family, friends, facebook, other forums, etc), but this prayer crap is just offensive and it really pisses me off. What's worse than doing nothing is doing nothing and actually think you're helping. Japan just went through a major disaster, and other countries (our own included) could be victims of its aftereffects. If people really want to help, donate to the Red Cross and other disaster relief groups (preferably ones that don't have other agendas). THAT is actually going to make a difference. Don't have money to spare? These relief groups usually need volunteers especially after a disaster. Donate clothing. Donate blood. DO something. And if you are unable to do anything, then that's okay too. But don't think you're doing something by talking to your god(s) of choice when in reality it has absolutely no effect.

Don't respond to this post. Go and actually do something to help.

I was hoping to get stationed in Japan eventually. I wish I were there now, so I'd be able to help in any way I could. I have friends who live there and know people stationed over there, and happy to hear that none of them were affected by the quake. We have a Navy base over there so I hope our guys are able to provide support.

Here's a link to the Red Cross:

Be wary to who you donate to. During disasters, sometimes sick bastards start up fake relief groups.
