EA's Statement:

Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.

RPS's response:

I have no words. Actually, I have some words- according to a thread of the Facepunch forums (which may or may not be deleted any second depending how the Facepunch server holds up), a developer build of Crysis 2 containing the full game, multiplayer and the master key for the online authentication has been leaked, and is currently freely available from all sorts of astonishingly illegal websites. This sounds like it might be a serious tragedy for Crytek. Crysis 2 was scheduled for release on the 22nd of March, so the leaked build could be dangerously close to finished. More on this as we hear it, and thanks to RPS reader James B for letting us know.

What do you guys think? Should the public be able to download it or not? Very bad security by Crytek on this one and its going to cost them some money. But I still might download the leaked version

no, illegal downloading is b.s.
People have become accustomed to thinking their entitled to everything for free simply because it there. But their not. It allready screwed up the music industry, its in process of trying to screw up the movie and video game industry now.

I went on http://www.systemreq...tslab.com/cyri/ and I have more than the minimum requirements. Hopefully when the recomended requirements are posted I pass that test to.

Can't wait for the official release of Crysis 2 though, I haven't seen the pirated leak but they say it's unfinished so I won't bother with it. Ever since I watched the Wolverines movie leak I don't bother with unfinished leaks anymore.

It is a shame when NEW games are leaked...

However, I do think, that after a period of time, games should be free...

Say, 10 years?

Kind of how authors of books have the copyrights for a certain number of years, but, when the die, after a certain time, they become public domain...

There are some computer games from the 1990s that would still be fun to play... for free of course...
