Is the S3 supposed to get KitKat?

Tmobile always lags it when it comes to Android updates, worst of the 4 major carriers.

I've heard it should be getting KitKat, yes. When I first heard this months ago, it was said it'd roll out in a few weeks. Still nothing months later. I just looked this up right now though, and it said it should be within the next few weeks ..again. I guess this has to do with T-Mobile's lags, as you mentioned.

The worst is Verizon with updates actually. Samsung in General can be bad with updates. They've been getting better though along with HTC.

Here’s how to give your Android phone a huge speed boost, just like Apple sped up iOS 7.1

Awesome   This definitely helped as my phone's been working almost like a snail since the 4.3 update.

Throughout the day, the windows and stuff did appear faster -- that's what one of the settings were for anyway. Other than that, the phone is still a bit slow.

I have this app called Clean Master, but for the past few weeks, it doesn't really do [expletive] either so I'm gonna uninstall it lol

TouchWiz on Samsung is notorious for lagging after awhile. A backup and factory restore can help the most, or root and go vanilla

Now finding that the launchers I've used slows things down like crazy (not surprised, really). I had been running the Nova Launcher for a while now as well. I then discovered Themer the other day and it made my phone lag just as much.

So... I got rid of it. I'm currently using the S3 in its default state, as in there's no fancy theme going on or anything. No launcher. Everything is running super quick again since then. Oh well, I guess...

^I started using Themer too like on Saturday and it would freeze often.

Great looking home page but too buggy.

Side note, but my phones battery has drained super fast twice in the past week. I wasn't using it either.

Last time it went from 90% to 46% in an hour or so, and the phone itself was pretty hot.

Googled the issue and it's happening to other ppl who just updated their S4's to KitKat.

I've never had a slow down due to Nova, I actually use that myself as my launcher

A bunch of new Android flagships have been announced and I am torn on what to get. I am due for an upgrade but not sure what phone to get. None of them really seem like huge upgrades from the current devices out. However, I have a gs3 and that is getting left behind in updates and quite frankly just isn't up to par anymore but still runs great for me. I guess I am just in the mood for a new phone.

Any thoughts on the new android devices? The new One looks pretty slick, I am not a fan of the gs5 though. I would love if I could get my hands on the sony xperia Z2 that phone looks great, but doubt it will be coming to sprint. At this point I feel like waiting for the next round of phones since nothing out really grabs me. Might as well wait to see what apple can pop out in the iphone 6 and the g3 is setting up to be a monster phone too when that will finally be released.

All I want for Christmas is a Laker girl :D

The new HTC One is the nicest looking phone I've ever seen design wise. I also like that Sense 6 doesn't bloat over Android OS too much. The only downfall to some will be the camera but to me it's not a huge deal.

The Galaxy S5 I'm not a fan of at all, I hate hate TouchWiz, don't like the design of the phone and don't care for plastic phones.

LG is doing good things too, the Z2 looks nice but for some reason the design of the phone i'm not digging.

I'll either get the new One or wait to see what the next Nexus phone looks like.

Moto X should have a new version coming too.

iPhones are iPhones you're really paying more for iOS and their iTunes/iCloud integration. It may get a slightly bigger size though this time around.
