Stephen A. Smith is getting yet another opportunity to do a radio show, according to moles who know the 25 degree weather of Bristol, CT.

The broadcaster, most celebrated as an NBA Insider, who has bounced around from a number of great gigs since being dumped by ESPN, is returning to the company on the local radio dial in America’s biggest media markets.

Starting Monday night Stephen A. will do a program based mostly from New York City that will simulcast from 9pm till 11pm ET (6-8pm PT) on the ESPN owned and operated stations in Los Angeles (710am) and New York (1050am), according to radio insiders who love to read BenMaller.com

A. Martinez, who had been hosting his own night time show on KSPN in LA will continue on as Smith’s sidekick. Martinez will also do a 6-8p block alone in the city of Lakers and Dodgers.

The NY Daily News first reported last week that Smith was about to rejoin 1050 WEPN in New York, a station he had worked for back in 2005.

Stephen A. started hosting a daily hour-long TV show on ESPN called Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith in August of 2005, the show was bashed by critics and had low ratings before being cancelled in January of 2007.

Smith more recently hosted the morning show on Fox Sports Radio.

Developing…

Good. He's annoying most of the time, but he brings energy wherever he goes.

Smith was the best thing that ever happened to ESPN. Why did he get fired again?

Indeed, made no sense for Stephen A to ever be let go in the first place. Mad respect for the man. Isn't afraid to tell it how it is or how he thinks it is almost all the time. No politically correct BS.

yo.

Stephen A. Smith has been on Lakersline post-game radio show after this Houston game and he's been PHENOMENAL. Just amazing. Was playing a little 2K while listening to the radio, and he just went off about a whole lot of things. Pau Gasol's mentality, how he's missing that "it" that makes guys wanna tear people apart, comparisons to KG, some story of CP3 ripping Jason Kidd during that NOH/DAL series a few years back. Wow. Just awesome radio entertainment. Definitely gonna tune in

He tore Gasol up today in the pregame "What is this nonsense about Gasol asking for the ball? How bout handling your own business and making sure you outperform your man? What does he want? Milk and cookies?" I Lol'd so hard. Definitely have to tune in 6pm every night ESPN 710
