I know you guys are all Laker fans, and it's refreshing finally seeing negative input.

I'm always on Clipper forums and they always have positive input so it's good to fight water with fire sometimes.

I'll do my best to show you that LA's "other team" has some talent.. You just never realized it I'll also do my best to describe everyone honestly and supply you with some video clips.

What I believe is... Phoenix and Dallas are on their way down. Spurs, I doubt will go down. But come on, Denver and Warriors? Warriors, oh HELL no, they have 9 small forwards on that team, and only 4 non small forwards. They have NO legit point guard, and also lost monta for the first few months. How are they competition to a team with pretty good talent (the Clippers)? Denver? Don't you Laker fans remember annahilating them last year in the playoffs? WITH Camby? How are they gona be with no Camby and Najera? Two of their bigs? Yeah they're on their way down too. Camby was the only one that played defense there.


Now whoever didn't watch the Clippers but still hates them anyways, it's a cool decision that any normal human would probably make, to be honest. But let me sum up some of their talent.


Point Guards

Baron Davis- DON'T FREAKING DOUBT DAVIS. You know when was the last time I did? When they matched up against #1 Dallas two years ago. Anyone remember the result? Yeah I learned my lesson, DON'T DOUBT BARON.

Jason Hart/Taylor- Not the most talented backcourt. I like Taylor's potential, and Hart is just a guy who will give Baron a breather.

Shooting Guards

Ricky Davis- Yeah he's been an [expletive] and a cancer in this league. But so was Stephen Jackson. Coincidentally Baron was on Stephen Jackson's team when he turned it around. Ricky Davis said he was going to start being mature... Starting with shocking us all and shaving off his known hairdo. He has matured and is going to continue maturing as a Clipper (hopefully.)
Here are some Ricky Davis dunks.

Cat Mobley- Awesome defender, I mean a REALLY good defender. Can score in bunches and is a pretty good post up/good shooter in the clutch, but sometimes ballhogs it or doesn't look to pass it to the post. It makes me mad when he doesn't wana post up Kaman, and would rather post himself up, but a great player anyways.

Eric Gordon- All I can say is, POTENTIAL. Huge upside. Great 3 point shooter, shown flashes that he can drive in and take contact.

Small Forwards

Al Thornton- AMAZING. Hands down my favorite Clipper. Outscored Kevin Durant in the second half of the season, is on his way WAYYY up, he's gona be crazy. Great scorer. 20+ points per game this season hopefully. LOAD of talent.

Tim Thomas- Just a good 3 point shooter and role player. Hopefully his mindset will be winning, this season.

Steve Novak- LIGHTS OUT 3 point shooter. Bombed a game winning 3 to keep the Rocket's 22 game win streak from last year alive.

Power Forwards

Marcus Camby- Finally, Camby can play his natural position again. He was stuck playing Center, and even then he has been the #1 shot blocker in the league for 3 years straight, for the first time in NBA history. Also the second best rebounder, only under Dwight Howard. Defensive Player of the Year 2 years ago, the year before Kevin Garnett got it. GREAT addition, will go great with Chris Kaman.
Camby mix- Offense
Camby mix- Blocks

Paul Davis- Just a good outside shooter and rebounder, will give Camby a breather. He has good footwork and can spread the floor a bit.

Centers

Chris Kaman- Where to start. VERY underrated cause everyone says he looks ugly. But while you guys are talking about his looks, the guy is the 3rd best shot blocker in the league, only behind TEAMMATE MARCUS CAMBY and Dwight Howard, and 3rd best rebounder in the league, behind none other than Dwight Howard and TEAMMATE MARCUS CAMBY. Is also VERY ambidextrous, he doesn't even know which arm is his good arm. He's going to be great when paired with Marcus Camby.
Chris Kaman mix

Brian Skinner- Good backup center. Nice beard =P GREAT shot blocker, a solid backup to give Chris Kaman a breather.
Brian Skinner mix

DeAndre Jordan- PURE POTENTIAL. Raw! He has to be worked with. But he's a Dwight Howard type player, with HIGHLIGHT reel dunks and put backs. He averaged 26 ppg and 16 rebounds and 8 blocks (yes blocks!) in high school. Also had a 37 point 20 block (!) game. Jumps out of this building, and long arms. Built just like Bynum and Howard.

Don't doubt! I know you don't like the Clippers, but if they have good chemistry, they DO have alot of talent.. You just haven't realized it yet!

But the Laker icon, the crazy fan, I forgot what his name is.. He's on AM 570. I think he's overall a nicer guy than Clipper Darrell, because Chris told me that he's met Clipper Darrell and he was a bit mean to Chris haha.

I like your breakdown of everything... Camby alongside Kaman will change the dynamics a bit. Thorton had an amazing first season and if he improves at all... damn. The Clippers have a shot to make the playoffs no doubt, but right now, until they play together, they're a 9 seed imo.

However, as we all know, there are so many variables. I look forward to kicking your guys' ass on our 2nd game though.

I think Clipper fans have a lot to look forward to this season. They get Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, and draft Eric Gordon. But unfortunately for them, this is the Lakers season. There will be no battle for LA. Maybe in 2-3 years but not this year.

They have talent BUT they are still the Clippers. The Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, Rockets, Suns, Mavs, Trailblazers and Nuggets are still better then them IMO. They will battling for the 8th spot this year, 7 is even possible but its pushing it.

One thing that you failed to mention, or at least I think you did, was the loss of Elton Brand, the clippers best player. He brought a lot to the table for you guys. You just can't replace a player like him.

I've maintained all summer that people are sleeping on the Clippers. Baron/Thornton/Camby/Kaman is a great starting core and whoever starts at SG will be solid. They need to stay even healthier than most teams, however, because their depth is weak sauce.

When they get some of these guys developed, like Portland (though they're ahead of the Clipps), the Clippers are gong to be nasty.

But honestly, what is their answer to Bynum/Gasol/Odom?

They will be competitive and entertaining. Will they make the playoffs? Their chances are not that good considering the really good teams in the West. They have a very nice nucleus of players. The big question mark is will the free flowing players like the Davis boys mesh with the play calling of Dunleavy. Now about the broacast team, I don't mind Lawler but something about Smith just bugs me.

Loss of Elton Brand? We never had him last year... In my opinion the 76ers took a HUGE gamble on him giving him a 5 year deal when it's unknown if he's back in shape yet, or anywhere near where he was. Even if he is, we still used his salary VERY well by getting good bench players and getting that "weak sauce depth" that you guys have mentioned I'm very happy with our depth. If we got Brand, we would just hire bench players to play for peanuts.

Another thing... Brand NEVER led the Clippers to the playoffs. The year we made it and were 1 game away from the Conference finals, it was Sam Cassell's leadership that took us there. It was his contract year so he played his [expletive] off to get that juicy contract. Of all of Brand's years he's failed to lead us anywhere. His stats were great and his heart was a nice thing to have on a team... He was a workhorse. But a winner? No...

I don't understand how you guys can put DENVER above the Clippers, when we just got their best defender. They had no defense to start with. Don't you remember kicking their asses? They just lost 2 of their bigs.

Portland is good.. But we don't know how good Oden is! Until we see him play in the NBA, it doesn't matter how much he dominated in college. Look at J.J Reddick.

Another thing, they're a very young team... I'll be bold and predict that they will be a championship team in the FUTURE, but as of right now I don't see it. There's no veteran leadership. Brandon Roy is also out for the first few months with surgery.

Phoenix? Laker fans laughed at Phoenix when they traded Marion for Shaq. Their defense got better but who knows how much beating Shaq can take at this age...

Dallas.. I'm a HUGE Jason Kidd fan but I honestly don't know how good these guys will be.

All these teams in the West, sure they were good last year. But- Doesn't mean they can't fall apart this year for any reason. That's the beauty of the NBA- you never know what will happen, you can't call any teams "elite". And you can't expect for last season to repeat itself. Especially because the East has grown much stronger this year. The only solid teams I can see this year from the West is the Lakers, Hornets, and Spurs. The Rockets, McGrady or Yao are ALWAYS injured. The Jazz are very inconsistent.. one year they do good the other year they're not so great anymore. We'll see how they end up.

Dunleavy has already told everyone this is Baron's team, and just as he let Sam Cassell run the show, he's going to do the same for Baron Davis. I still don't understand how you don't see they're in the playoff mix, but I guess Clippers are just going to have to prove themselves during the season.

I've been a Clipper fan forever, I just haven't seen talent like this for a long time. I have Mike Dunleavy to thank for that. But even that season with the playoff run, that wasn't any more talent than this year, at all. That was just heart and determination from the Clippers. If Baron can lead the Clippers with the same mindset, they have an even better chance this year because of the rise in talent level.

They're the Clippers. Chances are that something will go inexplicably wrong and destroy their good fortune. They never get a break. However, if they stay healthy and mesh well with one another, they have a very good shot at getting either the 7th or 8th seed in the Western Conference.
