Uribe joins Dodgers with three-year pact
LOS ANGELES -- Juan Uribe passed a physical exam Tuesday, making official his free-agent signing with the Dodgers to a three-year, $21 million contract.

Uribe leaves the defending world champion Giants to join the rival Dodgers and is expected to start at second base, displacing Ryan Theriot, who was traded to the Cardinals on Tuesday for pitcher Blake Hawksworth.

The signing of Uribe adds a productive bat to a lineup in need of one ever since Manny Ramirez returned from a 2009 drug suspension lacking the power that made him a Hall of Fame-caliber hitter.

Even when SF wins the world series the Dodgers are more attractive to players. :P

Giants fill infield hole with Tejada
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants appeared poised to fill their shortstop vacancy by signing free agent Miguel Tejada, the 2002 American League Most Valuable Player and a six-time All-Star, to a one-year contract.

Giants officials declined comment, but an industry source familiar with the negotiations indicated a deal would be announced pending a physical.

Tejada told The Associated Press in the Dominican Republic that he had agreed to the deal worth $6.5 million.

Hopefully Tejada has one more good year in him. He seems on the decline when looking at this past seasons numbers but uribe was never really a hot commodity till he got hot here in SF. Maybe SF is where you want to be to renew your career :D

... and LA is where you go to end your career (ala Jeff Kent)
