Just to update things, I got my money back. I used to work for a third party seller on Amazon, so I know how things work there, and what influences the sellers on there most. I filed a claim on them...Companies that are that big just want to get rid of the claim at any costs. I didn't even get a return address emailed to me, as to where they want me to ship back the item, so I'm keeping it. I'm not even going to email them and ask for the address, if they don't send me it themselves.

I tried them at the Apple Store and at Best Buy. My opinion is that it's just a lot of Bass - I'm not really impressed, especially with the price. Sadly, a lot of people will buy it because their friends tell them to and because they think that because Dr. Dre's name is on it, it must be good.

Just came in to say that if you're serious about sound [not just the OP], then you would never consider earbuds. I wouldn't drop >$25 on earbuds. No way in hell.

Decided to settle on these

I hear they are great headphones. The only negative is they lack bass.

Really thinking of getting these cause of the over the ear design which helps a lot in the gym.
Is there any alternatives that anyone knows of that might not be as pricey but that sound good? I currently use a pair of Skull Candy & they've done a good job & held up quit well.

I much prefer earphones/earbuds. I don't like the over-the-ear kind. Why? Because it warms the area too much, and I can't really wear it for long periods of time. I also don't want to invest a ton into speakers because I live with people.

Believe it or not, these...

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-HC55-S-Noise-Cancelling-Earbud-Headphones/dp/B0014II9F0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288814613&sr=8-1

They are technically noise cancelling 'buds, but the best thing about them is the sound quality. Very good highs, and awesome bass. The only drawback is that you have to use a battery.

Needed some earphones for on the go and settled on MEElectronics M6. Def the best IEM's under $50. They're only 19.99 on amazon right now which is a steal.

Highly recommend checking this thread out for anyone looking to get some quality IEM's: http://www.head-fi.o...-m3-added-11-30

The Beats Solos are great IMO. Would recommend(if you have the budget).

Bass can be heavy at times. I tweak my EQ presets in itunes to get the best sound out of every track.

They even have a mic. plus they don't need a battery.

got Monster Beats. Didn't regret buying it at all. Sound is as solid and as lively as you can get.

First and foremost, don't ever buy Skullcandies, they're like a michael bay film, flash yes but depth wise? nah.

Dre Beats is good
if you're on a budget

So, I went into the apple store, and...My God. I listened to some music using a Bowers and Wilkins headphone. Just amazing sound quality, and soft, supple leather. It's just atrocious, though, that they would charge 300 DOLLARS for it!

I'm laughing at anyone who bought Skullycandy, Bose, or Beats. You pay for the name, more-so than the quality with all three.
