Rios has to work on his conditioning/stamina more than anything imo. Mike was way quicker, explosive, and full of energy the second half of the fight.

Rios did keep coming forward but yes, Alvarado did appear the fresher fighter in the later rounds. To bad the 3rd fight can't take place Cinco de Mayo.

SMS Promotions will be well represented this Thursday at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.
Light welterweight Luis Olivares will be looking to raise his record to 3-0 when he takes on Christopher Williams Ortiz in a 4 round bout. Olivares won his previous 2 fights by knockouts.
The other SMS Promotions fighter on the card is lightweight Donte Strayhorn, who will be making his pro debut against Michael Carrerra in a 4 round match.
The fights are on the undercard of the Damien Frias vs. Ionut Dan Ion 8 round main attraction.

Dammit Donaire got schooled this past weekend. Aside from dropping the guy, he couldn't do much.

Manny vs Mike is a great match up & all but what happen to the trilogy with Brandon?
Ready for the Canelo fight this weekend. Hopefully it doesn't clash with the free UFC card.

You see Mexican authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Canelo? I hope it doesn't affect him mentally since it won't affect the fight.

Canelo defeats undefeated Trout. Controversy as usual though on the scorecards, especially it being in Texas.
Disappointed that Canelo never really went to the body all that much, especially considering that's his greatest bread & butter imo. Perhaps give some credit to Trout using that jab so consistently throughout keeping Canelo at a distance, but still, I felt Canelo could've made the effort a bit more to get him into the ropes and unleash some punishing body work.
I was more impressed though by the first fight. That Figueroa kid. That was nice.

Fight was kind of lame to me. Aside from dropping Trout in the 7th, not much else happened.

^ Completely agree and like I said, I think a lot of it had to do with Canelo never really doing that much bodywork nor throwing those bursts of fast & explosive packed combinations that we're so accustomed to seeing.
A lot of fans were left a bit underwhelmed I'm sure. He can and should do better.

Really been looking forward to Garcia - Judah this weekend. Gonna see if Zab has anything left.

^ Wish it could be Mikey rather than Danny though. Mikey's much more exciting to watch for me, but Danny's alright too, just not as much. & you're right about Zab, if he doesn't show enough in this fight, then he probably may be close to irrelevant now.
