If anything it gives Bob Arum an excuse not to negotiate a fight with Mayweather. Now instead of pursing that fight, they're doing a rematch instead.

Steve Forbes said it best:

Agree i see a trilogy in the making then another fight against JMM, after that i see Manny vs Mayweather the promoters have to milk this for all its worth because after Manny vs Mayweather all interest in boxing will cease for a while

You really think Pacquiao is that stupid?

They would ship him back to the Philippines in pieces inside a body bag if he Marquez gets robbed again.

JJC Jr. really beat up Andy Lee on Saturday. He also had some words for Martinez & I'm really hoping that fight gets made in September.

^ Yeah, that was fantastic. That was the most impressive by far to me Chavez Jr. has looked up to this point. He completely wore down Lee with those body punches. Took the gas out of him and then just finished him off nasty there at the end.

The fight has been confirmed already.

Chavez Jr vs Sergio Martinez on September 15th.

What sucks though is that it's on the same night as Canelo vs Victor Ortiz. :wall:

Well looks like we don't have to worry about a double booking on great fights. Ortiz getting his jaw broken is very unfortunate. But Lopez was in there giving him all he could handle. Just when I thought he wasn't hurting Victor, the fight ends on that injury.

I loved when Josesito taunted Victor to bring it on and as Ortiz just laughed, Josesito kept being the aggressor and backed up his swagger. The guy was absolutely fearless and all heart. Perhaps to some extent, Ortiz might've overlooked him or underestimated him, but the bottomline is you straight up gotta' give Josesito his props. That was an admirable performance.

Canelo can't catch a break. First the whole PWill incident, then Kirkland not being able to go, and now Victor Ortiz is out too..

Cotto is being rumored as the likely replacement for September. Not bad imo.

Donaire wins, but didn't look that impressive, nor did Pavlik.

Looks like Canelo is fighting Josesito Lopez in Sept.

^ That's pretty cool. I think that's fair, but I must say I didn't expect them to make that happen.

Yup, fantastic fight. That's boxing truly at its finest and what we need to see more of. Credit to Khan though for showing tremendous heart and never quitting after taking so much punishment. He refused to give up, but ultimately the ref made the right call imo.

That Adrien Broner looks mighty impressive, I mean super. He is extremely skilled, powerful, explosive, quick, and has the same kind of defense as Mayweather and does it incredibly well. This guy is dominant and looks to continue to be for quite some time. I don't know who's gonna' stop him, if anyone.

Overrated. A really good pressure fighter will beat him.

He already lost to Ponce a while back. He tries so hard to be like Floyd inside and outside the ring.

^ Perhaps, but we'll just have to wait and see won't we? His chin really hasn't been tested yet that is true.
