i'm done with boxing...that was disgusting

they just didn't want to lose that mayweather payday...disappointing that manny had the never to say that "it was pretty clear i won" or whatever...lost some respect for him there

maybe mayweather would handle manny afterall

Mayweather is soo much of a better fighter than Manny if they fight he's gonna embarrass Pac.

marquez clearly has manny's number. manny's gotta look at this fight and fill in those holes

i think the main reason why manny's so tentative and lethargic is he didn't follow the gameplan. no feints, not even using proper angles. he just comes in forward. he may have taken juanma lightly but still that was stupid. you don't rush forward against a counter puncher. manny's fight against cotto/clottey/margarito/mosley shows the importance of side to side movement, feints and angles.. it wasn't evident tonight

Power punches thrown 274Pac-254Marq; Power connected 117Pac-100Marq Total thrown 578Pac-436Marq; Total connected 176Pac-138Marq

Pacquiao clearly landed the most punches but not impact punches. I think people are disappointed about this decision because of how the mexican fans set the tone of the fight.

and lastly, fans saying floyd will manhandle manny because of Juanma. Jst bcause Superman's weakness is kryptonite doesn't mean he's weak against alloy too. Just my opinion tho

just re-watched this fight three more times, Marquez for me had rounds 1, 2, 4, 5, 6. Manny with 3, 8, 9, 10, 11. rounds 7 and 12 are a toss up. it's a close fight, it could have gone either way.. but the 116-112 score is just absolutely ridiculous tho.

the last two rounds may have played a factor on the outcome of this bout. Marquez faded, he was backing down. the last round was a toss up for me because marquez landed a couple of clean combinations(not as damaging) but faded in the final 1:36 of the fight. The last part of was all Manny, not really landing solid blows, but he clearly dictated the tempo and was the aggressor.

Reason why manny ate too many punches was he came in moving forward. Didn't execute the game plan.

"I asked Manny to move to the right and he didn't." - Roach.

Plus fighting going backwards with defense and counters doesn't help with points. But it was a great fight if you ignore the judges at the end haha

In a 10-point system, the boxer who wins a round is given 10 points, and the other boxer gets nine points. (10 -9) If there was a knockdown in the round (10-8) 2 knock downs (10-7) If a judge can't decide who won the round, it is scored 10-10. Now if u are the challenger, u must be the aggressor (Pacquiao vs Cotto) in very close rounds the Champion gets the 10. For example if Pacquiao would just stay still and Marquez does not attack, Pacquiao gets the 10 and Marquez 9. In this case Manny(champion) was always aggressive while Marquez(challenger) waits for an attack and counters. Marquez's body language fooled a lot of people. Making people feel that he was the winner or at least it was a draw. It may look like he was landing more punches but the tricky part here is he was on the defensive, luring pacquiao into his tactical traps (remember the challenger must be the one who is aggressive to be awarded 10 ). So even if Marquez did connect more punches he gets only 9 for being defensive and manny gets the 10 for being the attacker. Pacquiao got more "10"s than Marquez. Manny wins

"get more 10s"???

this is why boxing barely resonates with me. who got hit the most? should be simple enough

Pau Gasol is GONE

if that's the logic, Dela Hoya should have won against Mosley. but no, it's who damages the most and controls/dictate the fight.

Marquez is the one who screwed himself over in this fight. If his corner had not kept telling him he was winning by a big margin maybe he would have attacked much more but instead he lost the rounds 9,10,11,12.

Pactards saying Marquez cheated by stepping on Pacquiao's foot! LOL, some people are just too dumb nowadays to distinguish leverage/vet move from cheating. cheating is when marquez hits pacquiao with a steel chair.

Watched the fight again yesterday. It was a international one from the UK. They predicted a manny win but when it was over were so pissed Marquez did not get the W.

You don't see Marquez's fans crying about Pacquiao doing the same to Marquez during the fight.

A prime Manny Pacquiao at his best weight class was still not able to beat an older, slower, past prime Marquez. How sad.
