Ih8LA, welcome to TLN. :D

LMAO!

Mbenga > Pryz? Joel Przybilla is the best back up center in the league and he did a good job when Oden was injured.

Powell is an energy player... he's only going to be playing 5 minutes per game. He's not going to make a big impact on the team.

Ariza > Webster? Ariza is overrated by Laker fans like you. Ariza can't stay healthy and Webster is a better player. Webster would be starting for a couple of teams in the NBA if he wasn't playing for Portland. How many teams would Ariza start for if he wasn't on the Lakers?

Sasha > Rudy? Rudy is a better player than Sasha. Sasha only had a couple of good months and chocked in the playoffs. Rudy played great overseas and played great in the Olympics.

Portland has a better bench and Portland will be contending for a championship soon. (Maybe in 2 years)

only 2 issues with your post

webster has done about nothing in this league he is a bust and ariza actually has a reputation as a very good defensive player who can create off the bounce while webster has no reputation

i don't know where your basis is that he would start because the only team hes starting on is the clippers. for god sakes hes not even the best small foward on his team

and the other one saying rudy fernandez is better than sasha at this point is ignorant if you've watched sasha play in europe he looked just as good if not better than rudy.

this is the NBA and last time i checked sasha was considered a top flight bench player while rudy has not played a second in the NBA

also you guys pumping up portland are basing their success off of a lot of unknowns greg oden, jarred bayless, rudy fernandez have all play 0 minutes in the NBA

also greg oden is a bust waiting to happen he is lazy, not 100% into basketball hell i remember a quote of him saying he didn't like basketball that much and only played it because he was good at it

There's a tiny thing called experience that the Blazers are sorely lacking.

Are they a strong team? Oh heck yeah - but they've got a lot of learning, attempts at success and heartbreak to go before they become a contender.

learning hell their players have to pan out first

they are counting their success on 3 rookies if they don't pan out they are mediocre for years

i love how everyone jumps all over portland when noone on that team has proven anything outside brandon roy

I don't agree with that, I never knew anything about Sasha when he played here in Europe, ,in which team did he play. Rudy has been the best here in Europe in the best league in Europe

Ariza can't stay healthy? he had one injury with us give him a chance he was great before the injury and showed improvement in his shot when he came back from the injury. And webster wouldn't be starting on any playoff team so i dont see your point.

Sasha choked in the playoffs? um i remember him dropping 20 on the celtics in the finals if you dont remember here it is. what do you expect kobe numbers from him? also he kept his season avg. basically the same.

And if anything Rudy Fernandez is over hyped/overrated because of the Olympic games..i wanna see something against the NBA.

Well actually he has had structural foot problems, but hopefully they're all better now. Always liked him.

And Rudy shouldn't be a bust. Dude looks TOO nice.

And of course Machine didn't choke. Our whole team as a whole choked. He actually played better than most the time by having a good game.

exactly "shouldn't" but everyone is judging him off of the olympics and yes he did play very good but has anyone seen him play other than those few couple of games? How about seeing him play 82 games?

US public is judging him off the olympics, in Europe we know that he is the best here, same as Pau when he went to the NBA.

What I've gathered from scanning this thread is that quite a few of us Lakers fans are as stupid as our equally homerific Portland guest.

I'm not judging him by his performance off the Olympics... I'm judging him by his performance in Europe just like Mark Gasol.

Ariza can't say healthy because he always has foot problems. Why do you think New York traded him when they loved him?

WOW... he had one good game. What about the other games when he played like [expletive] and got abused by Allen? :o

Do you want me to post the videos of him chocking and getting abuse by Ray Allen?

No, I'm just tired of people overrating him. Do you remember the thread on CL about him being better than Artest?

actually that was the same game for sasha and of course he is gonna get beat by ray allen(allstar) it was basically 1 on 1 and there was no one defending the paint .

ariza has always had foot problems? u should know huh? how about you find me an article on him having a foot injury before this one.
because i know your just going off of what you heard but how about you show some facts? what other foot injury has he had before this one let me know?

The Magic wanted another shooter to stretch the defense, so it took on the Lakers' Brian Cook, no fan of Phil Jackson, and gave up Trevor Ariza, who, despite being only 22, is a physical wreck waiting to happen. The whispers out of Orlando are that the ex-Knick has structural foot problems that will eventually catch up with him.

You're comparing a bench player to an all-star starter. How many bench SGs outplayed Sasha in the playoffs?

I was thinking of that exact article. I've always liked Ariza with NY and Orl, but it's true that he's been injury prone. wong you probably had never heard of Trevor before he got on the Lakers, based on what I'm seeing.
