This show has been in the toilet ever since the original showrunner (season 1) Frank Darabont was fired. It's so obvious comparing the overall quality of the show since then. I mean this guy did "The Shawshank Redemption" & "The Green Mile" among other works.
This season's showrunner was fired too for those that didn't know and read this if you haven't already:
One source says Mazzara's shortcomings in running the series during the most recent third season became "abundantly clear … especially for the second half of the season." This source says production was shut down "several times" because of a lack of material.
Beyond disturbing. It showed too. I completely feel the first half of this season was superior than the second. I think that was pretty obvious. Even then, those episodes to me still couldn't touch most if any of the quality of episodes in all of the best by far season 1 (Darabont).
