Magic Won't Trade J.J. Redick

Posted Image

Magic GM Otis Smith says that the team will not trade guard J.J. Redick at this point in time.

"He's worked his tail off. I see an improvement, I really do," Smith said of Redick. "I don’t know how that equates with minutes on the floor. We’ll see how it shakes out. He’s had a helluva summer."

Redick reportedly asked for a trade last season, upset with a lack of playing time, and isn't known to have backed off.

"Not at this point. For one, I like him," Smith said of whether or not he's looking to trade Redick. "I think he can help us. The guys who’ve played in front of him, quite frankly, are what we needed at the time."

J.J. Redick To Seek $10M Annual Deal In Free Agency

Posted Image

J.J. Redick will be looking for a four-year, $40 millon contract on the free agent market, according to sources.

Redick is unlikely to get a deal that hits $10 million annually, but teams with interest in dealing for him contend a $7 million per season amount is likely.

The Pacers, Bucks, Bulls and Wolves have been interested in Redick.

The Magic are willing to re-sign Redick at a deal at approximately $5 million per season.

So Reddick wants 10 mill / year? That's nice.

I would like Salma Hayek to make me breakfast every day - but that doesn't mean it's gonna happen....

Posted Image

The Indiana Pacers are unwilling to give up a first round pick in exchange for J.J. Redick.

Magic Have First Round Pick Offers For J.J. Redick

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

Orlando has secured offers of first-round picks for J.J. Redick, sources tell Y! Sports. So far, those belong to teams drafting in the 20's.

Spurs interested on J.J. Redick, but Magic can do better than San Antonio's late first-round pick in 2013.

I discounted San Antonio-Redick talks a bit earlier, but sources insisting there are legitimate scenarios in play that make Spurs a factor.

J.J. Redick and his wife own an off-season home in Austin, and with chance to win, prospect of trade to Spurs is beyond appealing to him.

Milwaukee has fallen back in pursuit of Redick, league sources tell Y! Sports. Bucks aren't out of it, but "less likely," one source says.
