The Dark Knight Rises

Nolan is damn good at siphoning out serious emotion (sans Bale and his ridiculous voice in The Dark Knight, which just about ruined the film - but Bale's a jerk, more than likely not Nolan's doing, anyhoo...) from his talent. Hathaway has chops and enough looks to pull it off. But this won't be a Michelle Pfeiffer kind of role this time around.
It's Nolan's final swipe at Batman (as Aronofsky's supposedly taking the franchise over, which I can't wait for), the guy knows his stuff, he wouldn't cast a dud in a franchise that has brought him ton of notoriety.
It's the Bane addition that has me concerned for the film. The Dark Knight wasn't without it's flaws, and one of them was the double villain garbage that tends to ruin all superhero flicks. I would rather see a final Nolan Batman movie revolve around Batman towing the line between vigilante, sympathizer, do-gooder and public enemy using Catwoman as the hinge.
Either way, don't judge yet, Hathaway will be good.

I get the feeling Hathaway is gonna pull off a helluva performance in this.

i agree hathaway is an outstanding actress and will pull off one of her better performances. i do believe that the best actor on set other than the old classics in freeman, oldman, and caine is bale. this movie must center around bale and have him show his acting ability. give him some sort of serious injury, addiction, or some device that allows him to do what he does best which is convey the emotion of suffering and redemption
if they center the movie around that and have catwoman and hardy be a means to get bale to this point then the film will be just as good as the first 2. people forget that batman begins was also an excellent movie. the dark knight seems to force people to forget that. bale carried that movie though freeman, oldman, caine, and neeson did their share as well
nolan is one of the smarter minds in film right now and i'm sure he will go out with a bang, and he's chosen a great cast to do so. hathaway, bale, hardy, freeman, caine, oldman these people can make a movie about as strong as any

It's ideas, characters and stories that resonate, not the trappings. But if you can combine those with the large canvas of film, the scale of it and the visual power of it, that can be something very special.

I hope for everyone that a 3rd villain isn't tossed into the mix.
What I was hoping for in the second film was Gotham in chaos due to the breakout at Arkham Asylum mentioned at the end of "Batman Begins". Seeing multiple villains wreaking havoc in all corners of the city then would've been fun. Could have used the second and third film about t he clean up of the town, but that ship has sailed, I hope. Now that time has passed and no mention of the breakout was made in "The Dark Knight" - it has me scared for piling on bad guys.
I do love Joseph Gordon-Levitt though, talented kid.

I'm very much ok with this, even though I wish he would have played The Riddler.

I don't think Catwoman will be a villain. If she is I expect her story telling will be similar to 2face in TDK.
