Passion as a fan

I certainly do. I like getting into debates for fun, and analyzing talent, but my passion as a fan is fading. As I am working hard in school, and trying to get into graduate school, I'm starting to just not give a damn about guys putting balls through a hoop for millions of dollars as much as I used to in my teens.
Does anybody share the same experience?

maybe you weren't a fan to begin with..
With the amount of things I broke during those Lakers vs. Kings series, I'm pretty sure I was.
I think MMA is replacing basketball in general in regards to my favorite sport anyways.

To me that added an infinite amount of fuel to the fire. Just waiting for the day to see Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and KG get beat down is enough for me.

I'm at the point where it's hard to live vicariously through others accomplishments, while I'm working hard on my own. I really could care less about feuds between multi-millionaires anymore.I don't see how it could slip after watching how Boston acted during the entire Finals.

I feel you (no homo). After awhile it feels kinda weird that you're getting this upset over what OTHER people accomplish or do wrong. I don't get as broken up over the Lakers as I used to. To me that doesn't mean I'm not a true fan, just that I'm a teen going through adolescents and realizing that there are more important things that matter in life.I'm at the point where it's hard to live vicariously through others accomplishments, while I'm working hard on my own. I really could care less about feuds between multi-millionaires anymore.

I think it's the opposite for me. I think my passion as a fan is getting larger.
Every year that i watch the Lakers my passion for the game just grows. I doubt it will ever start slipping.

I swear by my hatred towards the losses to the greens that my passion for the Lakers will never diminish. Though I will have to learn and adapt to the new lakers team after Kobe retires.

As you grow older, do you find your passion slipping?
I certainly do. I like getting into debates for fun, and analyzing talent, but my passion as a fan is fading. Well, I just started graduate school yesterday. I sorta get what you mean... I can say that I am not OUTWARDLY passionate about the Lakers as I used to be... I don't scream on every play like I used to in high school, I don't think about the Lakers 24/7 because I'm busy dealing with everything in life, etc. But my love and inner passion for the Lakers is stronger than ever before. I am so excited for this upcoming season because I want to see Bynum grow. No one season is ever the same... especially with these lakers, there's always something in the bag of surprises. So maybe you're going through the same thing, looking at this game as a veteran who has seen and gone through almost everything as a fan... from here on out you start appreciating the game introspectively rather than going around screaming to everyone that you're a lakers fan. What I'll do is occasionally wear a Laker shirt to the classes I teach to show my pride... but I definitely don't get into arguments with anyone. Most people can't even keep up with the debate anyway these days...
