Drake Speaks On Touring With J.Cole



“Just being with Cole and going to Europe for the first time, I wanted to do something different set wise and setlist wise. I wanted to bring an adaptive show out there. Cole is in my city tonight, man we are just having fun. Just having fun being young and rapping and living and enjoying it. Being good, responsible people, I mean we meet on a whole bunch of levels. It’s great because before I got to talk to him I didn’t know where our relationship was heading. When I finally got to meet him I realized like ‘oh man, this guy is so easy to like.’ I know what people are trying to do between us, but I’m going to like this guy and we are going to be friends and make great music together, hopefully for years to come. Cole is one of those guys that I can coexist with even though we do two completely different things. I mean, the one area where we meet on is lyricism, but that should be the case with any rapper regardless of genre. I meet on lyricism with a lot of people. There are a lot of lyrical cats out there doing great [expletive]. I mean, it’s really easy for me and Cole to get along, and getting along with someone like that usually leads to great music so being on tour that long and me having a new album on the way and him finishing his project, you never know. It’s something I want to do so I’m all in man, it’s whatever.

A little overrated but still I like a lot of his stuff. FNL probably the second best mixtape to come out this year behind Brake Lights, not counting Lil B mixtapes of course.

J. Cole Wants To Make A Collab Album With Nas

In a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, Fayettnam MC J. Cole stated his aspirations to make a collaborative album with hip-hop icon Nas, an MC he's often compared to, in the future:

"It don't even sound right to me [that I'm compared to Nas], 'cause Nas is [in] another stratosphere, but there has been some dialogue."

Cole went on to speak about the first time he and Nas shared face time, and how, despite being such a young MC, Nas was a huge fan of his:

"When I met him, I tried to give him like extra props - like I tried to bow down in his presence. He kinda wouldn't let me, 'cause he's like, 'Man, I'm a fan of yours.'"

Despite Nas' praise (which is a huge thing to attain), J. Cole believes that he isn't yet deserving of praise since he has yet to release an official album (I, and most, surely disagree):

"It's impossible for you to be a fan of mine; it's not supposed to happen like that."

J went on to speak about his respect for Nas and plans for the future, and when asked if he aspired to collaborate with Nas in the future, he replied: "Man, I'd do a whole album with Nas. Whenever Nas is ready, I'm ready."

Cole's had no problems making a name for himself on his own, especially with the release of Friday Night Lights last month, and a collaboration with Nas would certainly make for a potentially monumental piece of hip-hop. I don't know about an album, but I'm not too doubtful that a collab track could show up sometime next year. Whatever pops up, I'm in no hurry since Cole World is dropping in a few.

I couldnt stop smiling when I read the article. Album should be INSANE. I cant imagine hwo he felt when Nas gave him props.

Yea I watched it hes a big Kobe and Lakers fan so thats more points in my book for him, but if him and Nas drop a callabo album I can't imagine how dope that would be.
