The Grizzlies are still experimenting with a balance of decision-making in situations on the court and questions regarding basketball strategy during interviews.

"We have tried for the last couple of years to figure out an IQ test that is basketball-oriented," Tony Barone said. "We haven't done it."

Assistant GM Kenny Williamson acknowledged that the player interviews are playing a larger role during the Grizzlies' draft process this year.

"We've started asking basketball questions and started asking guys if they could draw certain things on the court," Williamson said. "Like what's the block/charge line? What's the free-throw line extended? Basketball has a language all its own. But you should be able to draw it. And we'll say things like, 'Your team is up three with eight seconds to go in the game. The other team has the ball so what should we do? Should we foul or not foul? If we do foul, why? At what point do we foul?'"
