I've been playing Guitar Hero/Rockband for not even year now. I pretty much play everyday. I'm obsessed. Haha.

I'm really excited for Rock Band 2. I've been counting down the days. I'm really excited to play "Alive" by Pearl Jam. "Alive" is my all-time favorite song so I'm just really excited.

I wish they would've had Even Flow instead. THAT is by far their best ever song.

Yeah but Even Flow was in Guitar Hero 3. Alive's solo is what I'm really excited about. It just gives me goosebumps everytime.

Really? Damn you GTH3, I wish there was a way to get all the songs from GHs that weren't in Rock Band into Rock Band. :(

Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana is another one just of the many that come to mind.

Jukebox mode looks fantastic, I think I'll be buying the extra add ons for the drums, seems fun.

Looks like there will be a $5 fee for everyone who wants to add ALL of the songs from RB1/transfer them over including those that were bought from the DLC, not too shabby.

Harmonix fine-tuning music creator

Rock Band purveyor says details will emerge soon about "full-on project" that lets players build their own songs a la Guitar Hero World Tour.

http://www.gamespot....adlines;title;1

From an innovation standpoint, MTV Games' Rock Band leapfrogged Activision Blizzard's Guitar Hero franchise last year, thanks to the inclusion of a drum kit and a microphone for vocals. Activision Blizzard hopes to return the favor with Guitar Hero World Tour, which sees Rock Band's new peripherals and raises them a Studio mode, the song-creation suite of tools that lets players lay down their own instrumental tracks and share them online.

So how is Harmonix taking the prospect of being one-upped by World Tour's Studio mode? First, they're assuming an unimpressed posture. "We've talked about doing a music creator," mused Harmonix public relations' John Drake in an interview with MTV's Multiplayer gaming blog. "We've actually done them before in other games that we've done, like in Amplitude and Frequency... We've done the whole MIDI-creation thing."

However, that isn't to say Harmonix doesn't have plans for a music-creation feature--or a full-fledged game--in the future. "We think we can do something really ambitious and really great that's going to speak across all the users of the game, not just hardcore users," continued Drake. "So Harmonix is going to do something great with it [music creation] down the road, we didn't want to rush it out and do it half-a****. This is definitely a full-on project for us. You'll hear more about it soon."

The music-creator-less Rock Band 2 is expected to arrive for the Xbox 360 in mid-September, with the PlayStation 3, Wii, and PlayStation 2 editions arriving later in the year. Guitar Hero World Tour is expected to go on the road--song creator and all--this fall for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, and PC.

Does anyone know if the Guitar Hero World Tour official track listing has been released yet & if not, any chance it ever will or when that might be? I've read this rumored one, don't know how legit it is:

Which game are you guys gonna' get? Anyone strongly considering getting BOTH?

Well I'll probably buy Rock Band 2 myself. I already have the instruments and I love my GH:Aerosmith guitar(theres something about the strum bar that is different than the others, I can't explain it) so I'm just buying the game alone. My birthday is Oct. 2nd so I'll ask for World Tour if it's out. And if not, I'll just ask for money. Perfect time for Rock Band 2 and World Tour to come out.

rock band 1 export is up on live for 360
$5(400 MS points) and you'll be able to export 55 songs from rock band 1 to rock band 2
also the missing tracks are

Nominal fee of $4.99 (400 Microsoft points) required for export of Rock Band 1 soundtrack to compensate music licensors for expanded use. The following Rock Band disc tracks will not be available for export into Rock Band 2: * "Paranoid" as made famous by Black Sabbath, * €œRun to the Hills€ as made famous by Iron Maiden, and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. In addition, the title update will also be released simultaneously in Europe. Tokio Hotel€™s €œThrough the Monsoon€ from the European disc release of Rock Band will not be available for export into the future European release of Rock Band 2. (* Indicates a cover song, all other songs are original master recordings.) Expanded usage rights for these particular tracks were unable to be secured from the music licensors for this feature.
