Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was asked on Sunday why LeBron James' sore right elbow has received so much attention.

Bryant's body has been banged up for quite some time.

"[Because] it's Cleveland," Bryant joked. "We have a couple more things to talk about in L.A."

He then elaborated on the two-time reigning MVP.

"I've been injured pretty much the entire season, so I think everybody just kind of got used to me playing that way," Bryant said.

"He hasn't really had any injury all year long, so this was really like his first injury of the year and it comes at the moment of the playoffs when it's crucial for them so I think there's a lot of attention around it."

For those who didn't get it, Kobe took a swipe at the backwater town (compared to LA) that is Cleveland...what else are they gonna talk about?

And I can say that because I've been to Cleveland and my cousin lives in Cleveland...lots of people...sports...that's about it.

...How could someone not catch that?....

Yeah, I think it irritates kobe that he's always the villan, the bad guy is never as apprecheated as the good guy, untill its all over. Whatever though, all I know is kobe loves outside motivation, just like "23". He uses them in big games, because hes already done it all. Thats the difference in kobe and the younger guys in the NBA. Hes been there and done that, and done it better....
Any one single basketball play. (remember 1 play) that lebron, dade, mello, etc. has done, kobe has done it better. pass, shot, dunk, poster, GW....whatever it is... hes done it better.... when your that good at somthing, it can be counter productive, you find different challenges to try during games, maybe you think im gonna try and shoot on dude all day, or im only taking him to the bucket. point being kobe uses this extra motivation, and morphs into a killer.

You forgot to mention the most important thing - winning.

hahaha so so so true! Thats the thing the makes him jordan like and not Tmac. He has those little challenges that motivate, and they make him win. Those little extras are make or break superstars.

Its like when a player comes in with hype, the great ones embrace it. Because it makes them better. its no wonder the league avg. for GW is below 30%. they dont rise to the challenge, they fall. Im not saying I expect that % to go up, from a players normal shooting %, but i do expect it to atleast stay the same. People will say, well better defense is played, at the end of a game. But there are also better offensive plays ran when trying to win.....

All i know is whatever it is, its not shown on stats. It might be pace. It might be his will. shot selection. motivating other guys. But whatever ingrediant makes cold blooded killers kobes got. and i just dont see it in other guys. i see them do great things out there, no doubt. But i just dont see "it"

I don't think he was talking bad about Cleveland. Basically was saying Cleveland is a city where there is not alot going on and in sports right now it is all about Lebron for Cleveland. In LA kobe injury is one of many things that could be a topic.
