so i was reading a bill simmons ESPN page 2 article for some reason, and came across this

An NBA performance can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. For instance, you can have ...

"The Torch Pass" -- When a younger great player yanks the torch away from an older great player. Like Bird outscoring Doc 42-6 in 1984, leading to their crazy fight.

and it continued, but "their crazy fight" was actually a link to a youtube vid, so i figured, hey, sounds interesting so i watched him drop the 42 points which was damn nice, and then well, i'll let you watch what happened. dr. j, moses malone, and charles barkley are involved on the sixers side of it

skip to about 6:50 if you don't want to see him drop the 42 points, they start recapping the whole fight portion of it at that time

uhhh...i know larry talked a lot of [expletive], but damn...

old school ball right there. Glad a lot of that was cleaned up. We can talk a lot of [expletive] about Stern but he has done the game a tremendous favor by cleaning it up and getting the "street ball player" mentality out of the game.

Bird was lighting up the Sixers off of pure ability and they couldn't take it.
The Lakers FO knows more than you. Sorry.

Wow. Hahaha. Crazy. Charles Barkely, straight butterflied him and Moses choked him out, while Dr.J just let loose his fury. That literally is a gang fight. Sooo dirty

Now that is what I call a sore loser, couldnt beat him on the court so he gets two players to hold him so he can get some cheap shots in. Bird comes out the winner and better man any way you see it.
