Just started Spartacus per recommendation of no-name. And by started... I mean, day 2, Season 2. ;) (I don't think I will watch all of Season 2 today though, I'm marathon'ed out)

Welcome to the club. Where are you currently?

I finished it a few weeks ago. It was brilliant! Especially because of its ultimate theme of freedom... brought a tear to my eye, actually.

^ Talk about an understatement.

I have to ask. Which do you enjoy better/find more consistently satisfying, this or Game of Thrones? & also, where do you rank it on your personal list of all-time favorite shows?

I only got several seasons into the second season of Game of Thrones before I stopped watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed the first season, the second didn't entertain me as often. I may return to it when I have nothing to watch, but I make priorities with TV shows and movies because I value my time.

As to where I would rank it... out of ~30 +- television series, probably 5-7. That's way too tough to answer right now, I'll have to think on it longer.

I have. I just don't really post in that thread because I watch all of the episodes very late. Good series.

^ Yeah. Imagine had it been on HBO. It might've actually competed or potentially beat "Game of Thrones" despite its already established cult following with the books & all.

IDK, IMO it's a case of what makes one laugh, makes another cry.
Spartacus is build off blood, guts, violence, nudity, etc.etc... That's what brings many to like the show. It's also what turns others away. TBH, I don't think HBO would touch the script if they were approached before Starz.

^ In hindsight, you're probably right. HBO's actually a little softer hard as that may be to believe. Even with "Game Of Thrones" as an example of arguably one of their most graphic & explicit series, it's still nowhere near close the often & consistent grotesqueness of "Spartacus".

Never seen the show they did called "Rome", which is similar to "Spartacus" obviously in some way, but I only heard that it wasn't nearly as explicit as "Spartacus" neither both in sex & violence (in other words realism).

Violence, blood, sex lots of naked women. Best show that's no longer showing :(.

Yeah, it wasn't just the fact that there were many nude Women, but the quality of them was impressive too. One of my favorites was one of the two chicks in the last season that were with Caesar. If I remember correctly one was blonde & the other brunette. I believe it was the brunette I had an eye for more with a curvier figure.

They had the blue print. The history is sketchy on what happened. They did right. Hit all the marks IMO.
